Well, I started this thread because I wanted to see if anyone had the game? TO be honest, I'm not American Idol fan, but I'm wanting this. I really enjoyed all Karaoke Revolution games (including the previous American Idol one) and the downloadable music sounds great. I'm considering selling off all my PS2 KR games, then downloading my favorite music on PS3 and sticking to this version.

I heard RB mics do work for this, but there's no unbundled version. :whistle2:(

I kinda want this now, does the PS3 version have the same amount of downloadable songs as the 360 version?
I kinda want this now, does the PS3 version have the same amount of downloadable songs as the 360 version?
From what I hear, almost, only because Konami released the PS3 version later. I just wish Konami dumped all the songs in the 360 version on the PS3 one and called it a day. I'm expecting an update this week which may tie the versions.

I'm still getting it on PS3 since I already have a Rock Band mic on PS3 and I have a few USB headsets.

The Rock Band mic should work on both consoles. I don't know if it does, but the game specifically states that almost any USB mic can be used.

Also this game is all covers. That to me is a huge minus.

I honestly didn't know if I could plug it into the 360 and work just fine (oh course I know for sure the 360 RB microphone will work on KR for 360). Hmm, interesting.

Overall, the music seems interesting to me, but at the same time, I kind of want to see how SingStar goes with music to decide whether I need two Karaoke games. My only problem with buying two is that it will get expensive. :whistle2:(

I still don't like the idea of the game being based off of American Idol (I rather have it without any of that, but I believe I heard it did).

First off, the game has dropped price to $49.99 (the bundle). Best Buy advertises for tomorrow. Also, GS dropped the price too.

Now I'm even more tempted to buy it.

Here was the last songlist update two weeks ago:
* Every Little Thing She Does is Magic - The Police
* “More than Words” - Extreme
* “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” - Tony Bennett
* “Build Me Up Buttercup” - The Foundations
* “Can’t Help Falling In Love” - Elvis Presley
* “Easy” - The Commodores
* “Let’s Stay Together” - Al Green
* “Wide Open Spaces” - Dixie Chicks
* “Drift Away” - Dobie Gray/Uncle Kracker
* “I Walk the Line” - Johnny Cash
* “Celebration” - Kool & The Gang
* “Thank You” - Dido
* “I’ll Be” - Edwin McCain
* “Uptown Girl” - Billy Joel
* “Heaven” - Los Lonely Boys
* “I’m With You” - Avril Lavigne
* “Rock and Roll All Night” - Kiss
* “Sweet Home Alabama” - Lynyrd Skynyrd
* “Here Without You” - 3 Doors Down
* “When I’m Gone” - 3 Doors Down
* “Truth Is” - Fantasia

The recent update really makes me want to buy now, since I really want:
“Drift Away” - Dobie Gray/Uncle Kracker
“Rock and Roll All Night” - Kiss
“Sweet Home Alabama” - Lynyrd Skynyrd :hot: :hot: :hot:

What's holding me back is: reviews aren't too promising (although I understand they mostly complain it not changing, which isn't a bad thing), I'm not info American Idol (just like the music this game provides and KR in general), and I already bought SingStar and have Rock Band (so I'd technically have three Karaoke games in ways).

And yeah, I do agree with Casey that KR games being all covers sure does suck. Most of it in previous KR games was terrible (which is why I'm more interested in SingStar being my main Karaoke game).

Correct, you never have to even touch American Idol mode if you don't want to. My husband and I don't care about AI at all, and yet the two AI-branded KR games have been our favorites by far.

So, I have a question. I maintain the DLC list for this game over on Wikipedia. Last week I noticed that six songs had disappeared from Xbox Live Marketplace. However, I don't have the PS3 version nor know anyone who does, so I'm hoping you guys can help me - are the following six songs still available to download for the PS3 version?
1. "Hot Stuff" - Donna Summer
2. "I'll Make Love to You" - Boyz II Men
3. "Lady Marmalade" - Patti LaBelle
4. "Let's Get It On" - Marvin Gaye
5. "Like A Virgin" - Madonna
6. "Sugar, We're Goin' Down" - Fall Out Boy

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Also, re: covers - a handful of the Motown songs available as DLC, the ones that appeared on the Xbox 1 version of KR1, use the original tracks.
