Katamari Damacy 2!!!(First Pics!!!)

Hopefully this will be as "grim & gritty" as other recent sequels. An older, angrier prince (with goatee!), bloody smears where you run over people, ...

You, sir, are a marketing genius.

Hmm... brings up a pretty good question:

One of the reasons why katamari was so great is because it was so simple. Everything was primitive and "old school", and everyone loved it (except the graphics, they were bad and disturbing)

Would you rather see a game with many risky upgrades and new features, making the game more complex and less like its roots, or a "expansion" style sequel with new levels, items, but the gamplay unchanged?

Still deciding what i'd rather have, what do u think?

I definately vote for choice #2 I want the same gameplay with maybe like 1 or 2 new innovations that don't chance things much, maybe like 1 new move for the prince? I'd like slightly better graphics, and MORE VARIETY IN THE LEVELS. That was really my only complaint, you basically rolled the same stuff up. There were 2 basic variations, inside stuff, and outside stuff. I'd love to see more variety there. IMO the most fun level was the last one when you got to roll up EVERYTHING including wacky stuff that you couldn't roll up in the other levels.

yeah, making the moon was so awesome, i couldnt go back to the other levels (luckily i was giving my friend the game back the next day)

I hope they add something like a high score board or something like that. Trying to beat your own best sizes/times is ok, but keeping a list of everyone who plays the game (and allowing guests, like in Tetris) would be awesome. I tihnk that would give it more replay value.

It's great news. My only question is wil they keep it at $19.99, or raise the price back to normal seeing so many people love the game?

It deserves to flop if they raise the price to make a quick buck.

For those of you that are interested in the development side of KD, you should get the December issue of Game Developer since there's a nice feature on it. Also, it's on the cover, which looks nice. It talks about things that went well and the things that the developers would've liked to have changed or had more time to fix.
