Kid wins Nintendo Wii in Mall crane game

Doesn't it have to drop into the chute from the crane? It'd suck if he hooked it up and found out it didn't work because of that. However Nintendo makes solid consoles so chances are it does work. That's one lucky guy thou

I can guarantee you the Wii had plenty more abuse when it was shipped than it may have endured in the 2 ft fall in the crane machine.

True, I hadn't thought about that.
how exactly do those games work
You have to make a certain pattern with the rows of lights to win.

I saw one at my local mall, but there was not a Wii in it. I think the biggest prize inside was a Zen Mp3 player.

I once spent $15 trying to win an Ipod so I could resell it on ebay. I never won it.

I would be so freaking pumped to win a Wii out of a machine. I would run around the mall. Not so much for winning but like the kid in the video said. "$20 dollars dude."

Yeah. The cameramn was annoying. However, that guy winning a Wii from that game gives me the hope-- the best I could ever do is win a stick of Starburst from those light machines (which it's worth the 50 cents it cost to play)
I didn't know they stuck really cool prizes in there like a Wii.

Isn't that one of those "stacker" games that are doable until the last dot, when it's a 1:1000(or something more ridiculous) chance that it'll work, if you can even time it right?

Around here most redemption machines don't have anything thrilling in them, save for the random good recent video game or DVD. But considering those take more luck than skill in order to win (save for a few random crane machines), it's easier to just walk over to Target and buy the item itself for a few dollars more than you would spend to win it.

Good for the guy, though. It you can nail one of those all the better!

I see that game all around the island. Its usually filled with PSPs and DSs. One arcade that I frequent has a PS3 in it. I want to win it so I can sell it.

The game itself is quite easy. Unfortunately, its rigged so that you don't win the 'major' prizes until its met a certain quota (either a certain amount of plays, or a certain amount of money that's been put into the machine since the last major prize winner). The quota varies as well, as it can be changed by the owner of the machine.

Same here. That's pretty cool for that kid though! If I saw one of them I would hog that machine till I got it out!

Cool video. I wish I could have won my Wii like that. Hell, i would have paid $250 if I could have won my Wii like that. Would have been a good story.

the one in my mall has a psp and an iPod video
It would be funny if the kid won the box only.

And, yes, the camera man was annoying.
that would be awesome if it was nothing but a box! The kid would've been soooo pissed...

"Dude, you gotta be kidding me!!"
" ditto "
"Dude, you gotta be shitting me"
" ditto again"
"Dude, I fucking suck!!"

Seriously, go have a Wii Sport party BUT WITHOUT HIM.

As others mentioned the game is rigged. It's programmed where you can only win the grand prize choice at a certain amount of plays (1 in 800 for example). I got up to the last row twice at an arcade that had MP3 Players and 2 packs of PS2 games
