Kinect Seeing Through Clothes?

So before the Xbox One came out, there was that whole thing about Kinect seeing through clothes, and I thought it was bogus, as did many others. However, I've noticed with my Kinect (in IR mode) that when I'm wearing basketball shorts, I can see an outline of my... "junk" and also the the outline of my boxers. Not exactly sure why the Kinect is showing this or what Microsoft was thinking. Anyone have an explanation for this because it's creeping me out a bit. 

Also, anyone have a similar phenomenon?

The XBox Live Vision camera used to have this same problem too. Whenever I would play Uno, I would always see people's junk. I blame Microsoft for taking away my innocence.
