Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days by Square-Enix 9/29
I played the first two and I honestly have no idea what the heck is going on.
From what I understand, 358/2 days has more in common with the storyline of Chain of Memories, not KH 1 or 2.

I am very excited to play this game. Liked Kingdom Hearts on the playstation 2 so this one will keep me entertained for awhile.

dont know if its on a handheld or what..

never liked kingdom hearts 1 ... played maybe 5 hours..
hated kingdom hearts 2 played maybe 2 hours
Really could not stand the GBA kingdom hearts

but so far i have put 6 hours into this game and its growing on me... then again im a wimp and playing on beginner level LOL

This game takes place between 1 and 2, and overlaps COM. In the first quarter of this game
When about half the team goes to Castle Oblivion, that's when COM is taking place at the same time. After they news breaks that most of them have been wiped out, that's when CoM ends and the rest of the game is on its own time

That's funny. From what I was hearing, if folks didn't like the first two Kingdom Hearts games, 358/2 wouldn't convert them.

You know I wasn't a big fan of KH1, but I liked KH2 once you get past the prologue part, which takes a couple hours. If you are enjoying this game I'd recommend trying to go back to KH2 and get past the intro is you still have a game save from that point.

probally will if my ps2 even works anymore... its probally been 6 months or a year since i even turn on the ps2 or any console video game system.... mostly only play handhelds..

Whats sad is i got myself an xbox 360 last thanksgiving and its only been on a total of 3 hours ..... i think its Lack of room that keeps me from playing console games.. (my cousin moved back in and really dont have a room for video gaming anymore (what needs a tv to play them on)

Overall the game is really fun. I've put in about 7 hours and like someone else said it kinda grows on you. The beginning was sort of okay but it feels the more I customize the panel system the more fun it becomes. The graphics are decent for a DS game and there seems to be a lot to collect in the levels as time goes on. The sleeve is also a really cool bonus.

I have only played about an hour so far...and in that 1 hour i finished the tutorial LMAO...
The tutorial for this game is way too long...and it holds your hand way too much all the way through. I have heard after the tutorial it gets a lot more fun though, so i am looking forward to that lol

Either people are enjoying the game and holding on to it, or no one bought it. Still haven't gotten it from Goozex. I'm second in line now.
So far i'm liking this game but I have to say, that it the LONGEST tutorial ever. I'm still not sure which control scheme I prefer.
Unless you're primarily a Nintendo gamer and had to put up with crappy center-the-camera-behind-your-back camera controls since the N64 days then you'll prefer the Type B controls. It's not hard to press L+R simultaneously to bring up the shortcut menu, and you get full L&R-mapped camera controls in return -- how could you not prefer that?

I've been playing with the Type B controls actually which IMO should've been default. For some reason I was getting frustrated with hitting L&R at the same time to get to the shortcuts but I got used to it.

The way they made the game like missions is perfect for the pick up and play DS. This game is making me want to play the other games again...time to put them on my Goozex cue

Does the story ever pick up? I'm on day 22 and man, this game has fucking boring. Gameplay is ok but the controls are pretty crappy.

Itll start to pick up once you get past day 26. It is god awful slow up until then. You're almost there Vinny

Thanks for that. I was really thinking about quitting but since I'm almost there, I'll put up with it.

Although I got this game in November, today was the first time I tried it. I only played the first Kingdom Hearts on the PS2, and I was concerned I wouldn't get the story in 358/2 Days. Although I'm curious what all I'm missing, I'm still enjoying returning to the old characters. I'm almost an hour into the game, doing all the extremely simplistic tutorials, but I'm enjoying learning about the different Organization members. This is my first experience with them, after all (I've heard they made an appearance in previous games), and I'm enjoying the process, watching Sora's Nobody learn more about himself.

Graphics are wonderful for the DS, and all the voice-animation is great. As I'm hearing impaired, I'm really glad there are captions for the voice-overs.

While playing this morning, I discovered my hands were cramping during longer battle sequences. The only other time I recall that happening is when I tried playing Guitar Hero DS.

Can folks give me an idea how long the storyline is, not counting the holo-missions -- just the story? Just trying to figure out where I am. I'm almost to day 100.

I'm kind of having to force myself to play this one. Having only played some of the first Kingdom Hearts game, I'm not that vested in the series, although I always liked the idea of it and enjoyed what I played. This DS game has a vagueness which alienates me, which makes me feel like I'm being told something important, perhaps, in the slowest possible way.

I felt the same way for the first 20 or so hours of the game. The game doesn't pick up until the 270th day... every single day before that felt irrelevant. I really enjoyed the two console KH games and I honestly keep playing 358/2 Days simply in hopes that I get something out of this game but even as the story picked up, it seems like the story elements are unimportant.

And the gameplay becomes noticeably worse as you go since later enemies fly/move all over, making it a PITA to keep track for them or even hit them. Be ready for that.

I'd recommend playing the console KHs though, if you get the chance. They're great games.
When you finish a mission, you so shouldn't have to go back through the whole environment to the warp point at the beginning. :bomb:
Yeah, it's annoying, but IIRC you don't always have to trek back, and when you do it's usually pretty quick now that the enemies are gone. Plus, later on in the game you can move much faster, so it's even less of a problem.

I'm currently at the days called Love. I'm 11 hours in already!
Got the game from Best Buy. They price-matched Target for me.

I dunno what to think about this game.

While I found it fun for the few first hours, the game is way too difficult for me beyond a certain point (Proud Mode), and it just feels way too monotonous.

No offense to anyone who likes KH, but I feel like this is a game that is selling solely because its Kingdom Hearts, and not because its good.

Just my two cents.
Maybe try not playing on the mode that makes it way too monotonous.
The game is monotonous no matter the mode. The storyline is sparse and endlessly redundant. These people seem to live for ice cream.

While I hear the conclusion is great, no one should have to plow through 30 hours of gaming just because the last 3 are great.

I have the game and stopped playing when I got Miles Edgeworth. Now that I'm playing SoulSilver, not sure if I'll be returning to it. It just feels not worth it.

I stopped playing at around 18 hours. Im a huge Kingdom Hearts fan, but I was starting to fall asleep with this game. I need to go back and finish it honestly, but I have so much more to play ATM.
