I just recently gave this game to my youngest (purchased it a while ago) and - wow - this game is fantastic! We haven't gotten that far yet, but the artwork is great and it's a really fun game. It's a 2D platformer in 3D clothing, a bit like Kirby and the Crystal Shards and, I take it, Pandimonium (though I've never played that game). Definitely worth checking out, especially if you can get your copy for peanuts like I did.
 
I played the gba versions a couple years back and enjoyed them. Definitely must play for handheld console gaming. When I picked up the PS2 version I thought it was just okay and stopped playing it. Just restarted the entire game during Thanksgiving, about half way through it and I still think it's good at best. It lacks challenge and the levels are too straightforward, okay for its used price.

The game is pretty short so you can easily beat it over a weekend.
 
I played Klonoa 2 earlier this year. Agreed that it's graphically beautiful, plus the levels are well-designed. I also like that it's easy enough to get through to the end, but more difficult to obtain 100% completion, much like Kirby. Really looking forward to the Wii remake of the first Klonoa. Just wish Namco would make more Klonoas in general!
 
Great choice! Klonoa 2 is an awesome game, looks good even in these days. I should pick this game up out of the dust cabinet after reading your post.
 
I'm worried that we won't ever see that Klonoa Wii remake in the US. The sales of the game in Japan have been absolutely abysmal. I don't know how this stuff works though - maybe terrible sales in Japan just makes it more likely they'll release it here to try to recoup some of their losses. I don't know. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
 
I finally found a complete copy in very good shape. Of course, it is added to the huge backlog.
 
I love the Klonoa games. Me and my son beat the 2nd one a few years ago and he beat the GBA versions as well. I never got the 1st game for PS1, but I read that they are re-making it for the Wii.
 
I have read that the Wii remake is suppose to come out the first quarter of this year! So it could be soon, or it could be in a few months.
 
The first game was better, and I'm not saying this due to nostalgia or anything. I am saying it in the "about 2 years ago I played both games for the first time, back to back, and the first one was better overall". But, yeah, Klonoa 2 was still great.
