As of Feb 6th, to earn SYWR bonuses a member has to have a valid email address on their profile and opted in before purchasing an item with a bonus offer. Might pick up MLB: The Show 11, seems like the best deal and the game usually does not drop for a while. Also wondering what/if the promotion for Portal 2 will be.
 
Once again, same girl told me they didn't get the package in their shipment and to wait until Thursday. Sometimes I feel like going to the back myself. That girl is lazy as hell.

My Kmart(Peru, IL) had MLB 11: The Show out on the shelves the day of release. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come as previous attempts to get games on day of release has resulted in me leaving the store and getting it from Target instead.
 
No DA2 or 4000 Point cards to be found at Denver Belleview location. I'll try back in a few days I guess. I'm surprised this location ever sells any games as nothing in the case is ever priced. Store person was friendly, looked in the back for stuff but didn't find anything.

Since you haven't picked up the many subtle hints (let alone the direct PMs from other mods) I'll just spell it out for you. Both daphatty and I were referring to YOU in particular when saying we were getting sick of all the reported posts (just from this thread - reporting spam and such is always welcome). In general CAGs should feel free to report posts as they feel necessary as Gwen has suggested. It is better to report something rather than stir up trouble one way or another. The problem with you is that you stir up trouble and then report the posts that come out of that. Yes, technically, much of the time you are in the right with regards to the topic being discussed. But it is the way you handle it (resulting in a cluttered thread) that is the problem. And it is especially annoying when you engage someone about some small point (even when you are technically correct), get them riled up, and then report their posts.

There... We tried to be much more subtle about it, but when you throw crap out like "I'd say more, but we all know what questioning the mods leads to here..." I don't feel the slightest bit bad about calling you out specifically and publicly. You have actually been given a lot more latitude than many other CAGs.

For someone who otherwise seems pretty smart, I'm surprised you never picked up on what we were trying to say.

Anyway, hopefully that clears up the apparent contradiction that JustYourAverageJoe pointed out...
 
The employees at Big KMart 4407 in Brockton MA were unable to help me partake in the Dragon Age 2 deal. They had plenty of DA2 360 boxes on the shelf, but kept claiming they knew nothing about this deal, and when I began citing kmartgamer.com they said that it must be an online-only deal.

Rule #1 about deals don't ask if they know about it, just have them ring up the required items and it'll work. If it doesn't then you can comment and tell them where you found out about it and stuff.
 
The Manassas VA store (#4212) is a no-go. There was plenty of point cards but no DA2 for either console. Once I was able to track down a sales guy he was really helpful. He told me that they usually get new releases 1-2 weeks after release date. I'll keep checking, but was really a let down.
 
Bought MLB The show 11 and yet again didn't get any points. Is this borked yet again? Starting to get annoying that these SYWR points never work. Also did you get more MvC3 SE in? I went there opening week and they said they never got any, went there today and there were 3 of them for PS3... Is this normal to get it 2 weeks after the promotion? Sucks I missed out on that.

It certainly helps (and sorry for inadvertently stirring the pot, but it was, hopefully understandably, exasperating to hear two different messages and not know which to follow). It's such mixed signals sometimes that I honestly felt confused when guin encouraged us to report problem posts, because when you try to report a post, it brings you to the "Are you sure you can't just ignore it?" confirmation page which always seemed to suggest that it was strongly discouraged to report any but the absolute worst kinds of posts. That's the notion I've been under since I joined.

Indeed. As Saix said, just grab what you want, get it rung up, and if it doesn't come to the total you expect, then bring up the deal, and if they resist, either walk away or go ahead and then immediately contact Josh as detailed in the OP.

I love it. No problems when I go to my Kmart(s). They had 4000 point card and Dragon Age 2 out on the shelf at 10 this morning. The electronics guy even scanned my SYWR card without me having to ask him to do so. I do hope I get my $10 soon!

You know, there's a complete difference between me not getting the hint (I'm not stupid, you know) and me trying to get you guys to post things like this. It's completely unprofessional to post things like this. Quite honestly, I'm not sure why this was even posted, when my PMs work just fine.

Speaking of PMs... For all of the PMs I've supposedly gotten, wanna tell me who sent them and when? I have all of TWO PMs from mods, both from shrike, and one is simply him asking a couple questions.

I have to ask, what with all of the things I've seen on CAG recently that seem like it's mods overstepping your boundaries, but is there really any type of guide you guys go by? It seems lately especially that it's pretty much become "don't like what we do? too bad" which is completely out of character really given what I have seen in the past.

Either way, as I have said above (and as plenty of members have proven), my inbox works just fine. If you want to continue this, please use it. This is a Kmart thread, as multiple mods have been kinds enough to remind us of in the recent months.

I also have in my sig that I'm in no way affiliated with SHC or Kmart and people still seem to think I'm somehow working for them.
That's also probably pretty useless of a statement. Most of the people that would PM me are on my ignore list anyway.

I'll be back at the local Kmart tomorrow, for no real reason other than to try and peruse the game cases while there isn't 500 people in the electronics section. I'll try and see if they have any more clearance-marked titles still in the case. I found it extremely odd that a bunch of the clearance titles I knew they had weren't in the bin next to the register. Maybe there's some hidden gems in there.

Just posting what went on in my KMart today. Went and picked up DA2 and a $50 PS3 card. Both were located where they were supposed to. They rang up correctly (and clerk knew about the deal) and my 10k points showed up instantly on my receipt. (For the person who asked where it shows up, there are 3 lines regarding SYWR points: First is current balance, second is base points earned, third should be the bonus points earned.) Also, the electronics employee was cleaning and organizing the 'bottom section' of the game case which had already been fairly organized so props for that. The clearance section had been completely reorganized. They had always had their clearance section outside the game case and kept up to date but it was always just a mess of PS3 games next to Wii games etc. but now it's completely organized and easy to look through also. If I ever move and start going to a different KMart that isn't as good as this one, I'm going to be quite upset.

Also, off-topic sorta, but I for one appreciate Altanis and his posts. Perhaps he has what some people would perceive as a bad attitude but I don't see it and it doesn't negate the quality and correct information that he gives in here. Josh and Stock Boy aren't in here all the time and while Altanis doesn't work for Sears or KMart he is quite knowledged in how the system works and he can make up for a lack of presence from Josh and Stock Boy.

I've had mine disabled since joining. Way too many gamer-tags and other junk that loads, especially when you view 100 posts per page.

A must if surfing at work too, you really don't want to load all of that stuff...
 
No problems here. I was at my local Kmart at 10am and DA2 was stocked with the sale sign.

So I picked up DA2+$50 PSN card for $82, then used my SYWR points from the MvC3 deal and got it bumped down to $56 and change. Of course, now I have 10,000 points as well.

Great deal.
 
I think I might start Dragon Age Origins this week to see how i like it.

If i get hooked i'd like to get in on that DA2 deal while it's active. Really want some PSN money to buy PS1 games.

Any opinions on DA2 yet?

I'm glad he was helpful but they do not receive their releases late. Dragon Age II arrive in all stores a few days before street. Feel free to email me any issues like this directly so I can have the issue on file and make sure you are followed up with. Thanks!

If I look at the points earned by customers vs. the issues I receive via email, it is actually a very small % of the deals not working (sans MvC3).

Not to be contrary at all as I get frustrated with SYWR as well, but if you are opted in and everything looks good on your account I would definitely contact the SYWR helpline. In the meantime though I would be more than happy to follow up. I will be online pretty late tonight trying to catch up with everyone.

Is there any chance there's a stock locator link for :ps3:Dragon Age Origins Ultimate Edition floating around here somewhere? I don't want to go to all 3-5 local Kmart stores with gas being $3.50 a gallon just to come up empty handed.:bomb:

If it helps, zip code is 18504. The store in Dickson City, PA said they had none when I tried calling the other day.

Also, is the price $25 or $30? I'm sure it's been covered but I don't really check this thread often for my own reasons.:razz:

Should I email you with my receipt or what should I do to get the $15?
 
So would it just be better to email you the names of associates who tell me these horrible lies? Has that dealt with any problems?

I know i've directly told one or two associates that games don't arrive with the rest of their stuff, but there's a few who tell me it never got there. One of the associates I get along with has even told me he couldn't find the box, and he's probably the only one i'd believe. Clearly, there's problems with both the stock room and the associates not caring. I sometimes wonder if calls to corporate would fix anything. Never done so with Kmart.

I know it is not the "core" answer, but I very much prefer DA2 to DA1. It has definitely been streamlined but it plays so much smoother on the console this time around and I definitely prefer the art style in DA2 as well.

Yes, it lost some core RPG elements but at the same time it will appeal to more people this go around.
 
What do you guys bring to show them the deal when you buy in store? Is there an ad I can print out? Or will the computer automatically show them once I give them my shop your way rewards number?

It has helped in the past to provide name, store etc. I don't get people in trouble but try and help them improve.

Everything works correctly (if the SYWR account is set up correctly), however the Kmartgamer.com blog is featured in the circular each week for the stores to reference.

If Kmart has those 'survey' things on the bottom of receipts, do those and rate the store as low as you can and give detailed information when asked to explain it.

It helped with the one Sears a while back for me. I got a call from the store manager asking how he could improve things.;) The employees weren't all standing around watching ESPN when I went back there about a month ago.:evil::D

I haven't been able to jump on email yet (working on it tonight) but I hoped you emailed me, blog denials are my favorite type of resolutions :)

Just as a heads up, there was no additional shipments of MvC3 CE. This issue would have been particular to this location (not having them on the sales floor).

Thanks. I'll probably stop at the one Kmart I'm going to be by tomorrow and see if the customer service desk people could look it up using the UPC# from Half.com, since I've had success using that method before.:D

We follow up pretty consistently when issues are reported :)

The card thing is frustrating as I know more shipments were sent in.

Did you review my post about being back up on emails from Friday evening?

Did you send it before or after Friday night? If it was before, then unfortunately no, I haven't received it. If it was after Friday evening I am working on catching up tonight.
