As of Feb 6th, to earn SYWR bonuses a member has to have a valid email address on their profile and opted in before purchasing an item with a bonus offer. This has been communicated to members through SYWR emails and in the circular along with new signage indicating to receive bonus offers they have to have a valid email address on file and opted in to receive email. Opting in to receive SYWR bonus offers is not too bad: .

Just wanting to put my experience out there. This is from Bowling Green, KY.

Went and got LBP2 & DS2 + $20 PSN card. Didn't say anything other than I wanted those items. They were rung up and was told my price of about $95. Used $75 dollar gift card I had and paid the other $19.xx and went on my merry way.

Great job, Josh. Keep it all up.

Heh, I've already decided to start planning my purchases for Feb/Mar. All prices below are before tax.

If I get my $25 Kmart GC in the mail from my card rewards (and that's a maybe, they're fricking slow at that), I'll buy Mario Sports Mix for $25 and get the 15,000 SYWR points.
If not, it'll go to DQ6, which will then be $10 and I'll get 15,000 SYWR points.
Then use the 15,000 points on PKMN Black (or White), making it $20 plus whatever the promo is (I'm assuming that, if it gets approved, it'll be $15 in points).

Basically my plan hinges on whether the week of Feb 6 is too quickly to get mailed a Kmart giftcard from my bank or not, and if it is too quickly, whether the next week is quick enough. Aside from that, anything wrong with my math? I don't think so, but I did this all quickly in my head so I probably got something wrong along here.

Nintendo is brining in a few hand helds for me to demo. Anybody amped up for this thing? I've never been excited for a handheld before but this thing is cool.

I will say this though, just for me personally, when Sony's presser happens in Japan on Thursday....I may be even more excited about what they have got in the works.
 
I'm in for MvC3 LE (Thanks to Stock Boy), DQ6, and Bulletstorm for sure. I might even cave on Killzone 3 if I can get myself a (second, my wife has taken over the 60 gig with Atelier Rorona & the upcoming Neptunia) PS3 sometime soon. I'll be back in March for Pokemon, The Show, and 3DS Launch Games. Good lawd, Josh.
 
I'm excited for the 3DS. My big problem is that I have issues with 3D, so I'd be playing most of the time with the 3D turned off. Aside from that, I'm excited to see what is in store, and will probably pick up a 3DS down the road (tentatively, either Spring 2012 or Holiday 2012).

I'm excited about the 3DS but not about any of the games. I'm way more excited about the PSP2..
 
Nice, if it weren't for this thread, I would not have gotten Dead Space AND a copy of Shadow of the Colossus for $9.99 each. Both were the last ones available.

They're manually pricing it down. I don't think stores have the power to change the price an item scans at.. there'd be way too much fraud.

Wow that's pretty awesome of them. Maybe they're throwing away a few bucks now but i bet you're more likely to go back there because of it. That's the way it should work. It's a good way to gain/keep loyal customers.
 
Hey SHC; long-time lurker, new-time poster. My Mesa/Tempe area K-mart had no $20 PSN cards when I picked up DS2 this evening. I picked it up anyway because I remembered that you posted that you could work with us here. Is there something I should do here, or should I raincheck the item back to the B&M later?
 
Went to the Kmart that's about 10 miles away (by SDSU). They didn't have Little Big Planet 2 CE, nor any PSN $20 cards, so I decided to try a further one. Did manage to snag 2 Epic Mickey Paintbrushes though, which weren't there any of the last few times I went.

So we went down to Chula Vista. Still no Little Big Planet 2 CE, but I went ahead and bought the normal edition, along with Dead Space 2, and a $20 PSN card.

Both stores told me to check back Thursday for Little Big Planet CE. If I do decide to check later, does that mean I can't open Dead Space 2, or use the PSN card, so I can do a return Little Big Planet 2 and buy the CE if they end up getting it?

Also, the Chula Vista one has every game labeled with the price, which I appreciate. Most things were higher than you'll find anywhere else, but it beats the Kmart I normally go to by a mile.

Josh, GF also wanted me to let you know that both clerks at both stores both had very creepy smiles. They were both nice though =P

No, honestly they said sorry we have no PSN cards. I said would you mind deducting the difference t and the guy said, yeah we can do that, we did it before. He escorted me up to the returns counter and without hesitation the manager adjusted it -$30. I paid and left.
 
Long story short I went in to buy mass effect 2 and dead space 2. It rings up as 90 but they can't find any psn cards. I'm there half an hour as 4 workers scramble everywhere looking for them. The manager looks at me very compassionately and asks me plainly "I'm very sorry we don't have any cards BUT I can take 30 extra dollars off ur purchase. I PAY $60 TOTAL FOR ME2 & DS2!!!! Best Kmart experience ever!!!Plus I played hooky from work today! What a great day! !!! This was the Kmart in maspeth, NY.

Thanks, was waiting for this sale and went to my store to get LBP2, DS2 LE and a PSN card. The guy originally said they don't honor blog deals and he had to turn away someone earlier with the 360 version and a card when I asked for DS2 and a PSN card. So I was put off trying to explain it's not just a blog and talked him into ringing it up to see what it came to. $93 on the register and he looked kinda put off but walked away as the checkout guy was taking my money.
 
Well, I didn't get any $30 off deals. But I did managed to snag a nice black labeled Dead Space for $10. America, fuck yeah!

Yes, it's fraud. And you would be causing it to happen here, as if you did return it and they gave you $60 and you accepted it without telling them that it should be $40 (value of DS2 - the value of the points card), then yes, that's return fraud.

Thank you for the heads up on the deal! Got LBP2+DS2+1600 Pts at Bloomingdale, IL store. Funny part: somebody called just as I was about to get rung up. So the cashier talks to him a second, looks at my purchase, says "hang on a minute I'll check". Rings me up ($95), gets back on the phone and goes "yeah, it works. Okay, see you soon." I think I'm glad I went tonight. . . .

Shop Your Way Rewards points.

It's the currency that the entire Sears Co uses for rewards. It's like Best Buy, except that you get 10 points ($.01) per dollar, and there's at least one category (or sometimes the whole store) that gets 10x rewards (so $.10 per dollar) each month. Among other things.

Yes, you need a SYWR card.
 
Just got in on the deal tonight. Picked up Mass Effect 2, Dead Space 2 and a $20 PSN card. I'm very happy with the deal, but I was wondering if I could exchange Mass Effect 2 for Little Big Planet 2 when/if my store gets another shipment in since that was the game I would've preferred. I would've waited for them to restock it before buying, but the clerk wasn't sure if they would and I didn't want to miss out on the Limited Edition version of Dead Space 2 with Extraction since I ended up with the last copy of that (though I'm betting the restock of Dead Space 2 will probably be the Limited Edition for at least the first month). Anyways, if it can't be done, I'm sure I'll be happy with Mass Effect 2 as everyone seems to love it.

Josh, chris grant from joystiq tweeted about having some trouble with getting dead space 2 today at kmart. You may want to get at him to improve the image he is giving of kmart. I believe he is the eic there. Could have some manner of influence on potential customers.

Card only costs $100, but you earn $0.01 per dollar you spend in the store. So if you buy $10,000 worth of stuff at Kmart you have broken even on your investment. After that its the gravy train, netting you 1cent profit per dollar after the 10,000 mark. Sweet deal if you ask me!
