As of Feb 6th, to earn SYWR bonuses a member has to have a valid email address on their profile and opted in before purchasing an item with a bonus offer. This has been communicated to members through SYWR emails and in the circular along with new signage indicating to receive bonus offers they have to have a valid email address on file and opted in to receive email. Opting in to receive SYWR bonus offers is not too bad:
.

1. Log in to your account online
2. Click "My offers"
3. Click "More about me"
4. Scroll down to contact preferences
5. Click the boxes to receive email from (I suggest all for tomorrow). I'll post if you just have to accept Kmart in the future.

*This list is not comprehensive of every promotion that may be coming and release dates are subject to change.

Just start Nick Jr now, avoid further stress.
Get used to it, 1st it's Sprout, then Disney, then Nickelodeon. You know how many years spent singing those damn Wiggles' songs in my head. Mine are 6 and 3. Enjoy these days, they go fast.
We've jumped around with my son. Finally got him off of Sprout. He's a Nick Jr and Super Hero guy. But he's 3, so I have to tone the Super Hero's down. Super Hero Squad FTW!!!
Caillou is a little punk
Caillou annoys me to no end. His behavior is generally bad and I refuse to put that on for my son any more. I tell him it's not on and find something else, that isn't going to drive me mad!

What kind of deal is kmart going to have going on black ops for ps3? I was thinking about getting mass effect 2 and black ops this week for ps3 but saw that my local kmart didn't have any ps3 blacks ops out. I saw where Josh said they would be a offer on the ps3 version with a points card coming up in feb with the new DLC for the ps3 version. If I could get mass effect 2 at $59.99 and half off black ops with a $20 PSN card I'd probably bite.

How old is the little tyke? Just hand him a controller I was playing Mario at age 2. No joke :bouncy: Hell I remember beating Link to the Past at like age 6. I was pro.

(This is terrible advice, keep your kid as far away from games as possible )
I'm still catching up on Friday emails, but I should be good through Thursday. If you sent it previously than Friday please let me know.
Nope. I sent it Friday. :)

Dear Josh (SHC-Gamer) :

Just wanted to thank you for all the sweet Kmart deals in the past. I've moved to a new city recently and have the bad luck of being over an hour away from the nearest Kmart. I'll have my fingers crossed that in the near future you'll be able to bring all the great deals to the website, like you have the physical stores. The only way I'll realistically be able to continue getting my games at Kmart will have to be via the website. Keep up the good work.
Caillou is a little punk
You could pledge some money to your local PBS station so they can afford to color in the rest of the screen.

As far as kid shows go, "jack's big music show" was my favorite.

Currently watching "an idiot abroad"
not to be confused with "an idiot board."

Hey, my kmart still has the figures for buying pokemon gold/silver.
Can those be thrown in as a freebie along with the bonus sywr points?

Always amazed how full of fail this thread can be and then Josh posts and smooths things over. I swear some of the posters here are going to turn him into a pill popping, chain smoking angry drunk. Good luck in 4.0, 3.0 was over pretty quick.
Nothing of note next week except the Test Drive 2 promotion.
:bouncy: Fingers are crossed the reviews are good, and the extra polish has paid off. There was so much promise when I last experienced it, but there was so little to experience it was hard to tell how well it would live up. Please oh please, don't let it suck.

On another note, did you see Joystiq's story about Halo 1 getting the remake treatment? Any thoughts on how that might do? Maybe it's just me, but I'm starting to feel really fatigued towards Halo, COD, etc. Assassin's Creed is one of the few (now yearly) iterative franchises I'm not weary of yet. If they do a good job it'd be fun to pick up again, but I dunno.

And damn it November, get here already. I want Skyrim. :whee:

I was unable to take advantage of the Call of Duty offer this week. They were sold out of both :360: Call of Duty: Black Ops and $20 Xbox Live Cards.

When you guys do the PS3 Call of Duty: Black Ops deal you guys might want to check inventory. K-Mart store #9338 only had one copy left and I suspect it will be gone before the PS3 release of First Strike.

This is some constructive criticism to the denizens of this thread:

There's a lot of unnecessary bickering and unwarranted viciousness floating around here. It's detracting from the thread's primary mission, which is helping Kmart get customers and helping CAGs get sweet deals at Kmart.

Just be nice.
One thing that may not be popular with the SYWR deals in Feb. and the pending approval Mar. offers is that we will set a restriction for limit 2 per customer.

When the unique barcodes come out at the end of Mar. it will be the same as well.
The limit will be 2 per person for the deals. Now, if someone is going to buy a 3rd copy, they aren't going to get the SYWR points or the coupon. Period. I'm sure there will be people bitching "but it doesn't say limit 2" or some other bullshit, but aside from them, no one should be confused by this.

Ha, I thought Caillou was the name of a CAG. I was hoping to finally reveal the truth that SHC and Altanis are one in the same.

I love the conspiracy theories that I am Josh, but really, I can assure you that I am not located in Chicago, do not have any affiliation with Kmart/Sears Co (aside from buying stuff there), and am neither married nor a parent.

(Really? Conspiracy theories?)

This week's K-Mart circular ad is up and no special sales for the week.

The only thing of special notice is the Test Drive Unlimited 2 deal where if you pick up the PS3 version, you get TDU for the PSP free. And if you're opting for the 360 version, you get TDU for the PC free. This was already stated on the blog.

It also looks like each TDU2 game for either platform will come with a K-Mart "exclusive" DLC code to unlock the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti Sessanta.

I have to say that while I am happy to see the current Kmart game sales, I'm sad to not have the crazy clearances of the past. I miss those days. So many $2-$5 games it was ridiculous.

Exactly what someone would say if you were a rep for a Mart of the K variety. You gotta admit that would be pretty funny if true. Think of how many minds would be blown.

I think it's pretty damn clear to anyone with a brain that I'm not Josh. ;).

While yes, it would be funny if it was true, and that it would blow everyone's mind, I hate to be the one to destroy that into a million tiny pieces. I'm not Josh.

I couldn't do his job. I don't have the patience of a saint like Josh does.

Ah well, you do have me there. However, my not having a life got me almost $14,000 so...

(However, this convo is a bit off track, so let's steer it back shall we?)
yeah. and Josh has a life. so there's that ;)
There's no need for that. (I'm referring to the wink)

This thread hasn't been on track since you started squatting here.

Or maybe Josh created another account so that he could vent his frustrations at all of the morons in this thread? That would be pretty smart.
I dunno. Are you going to still be trolling every post I make then? You have a really... odd fascination with many posts of mine in this thread, and even feel the need to make retarded comments in response to them, such as your attempt at baiting me into arguing about whether Best Buy's Reward Zone program or Kmart's SYWR program was better. As I had said, they're apples and oranges and you can't compare the 2 directly.

Reading is fundamental. Here's what post #811 says, unedited and with no emphasis added:

The limit will be 2 per person for the deals. Now, if someone is going to buy a 3rd copy, they aren't going to get the SYWR points or the coupon. Period. I'm sure there will be people bitching "but it doesn't say limit 2" or some other bullshit, but aside from them, no one should be confused by this.
First, don't retract your statement, you tried to compare the SYWR base points to the BB RZ points.; however you forgot about the Gamer's Club incentives. Remember, this is a gaming website. The base points on SYWR are not even in the same league as RZ points... And I hate Best Buy but even I recognize that.

Kmart is not competitive outside of the gaming department. I have no need to buy food or other living essentials from them. Their products and product lines appear to be cheaply made and most times are more expensive then their main competitors target or Walmart. When was the last time you saw a newly released DVD or Blu Ray at Kmart that wasn't significantly cheaper elsewhere?

I post in this thread as a consumer and a gaming enthusiast. I make a side living out of being a consumer. Best Buy, Kmart, Staples, Target, TRU... I spend hours reading and understanding their policies, procedures, T&C as it applies to the products I purchase. You have on more then one occassion made a statement regarding how a deal would work and been completely incorrect, or at least misinformed. Twice this week alone (ME2 and COD: BO B1G1 50%, ME2 and Two Worlds B1G1 50%).

CAG represent just a fraction of the time I spend online doing research. I respect Josh and admire what he has done for SHC. Prior to learning of the SC2 promotion I had absolutely NO interest in Kmart. Now I visit at least weekly.

My main point is you cheapen yourself and this thread by posting as frequently and in the fashion that you do. You are NOT an honorary SHC associate; and I would pray that SHC would never hire someone that tends to others the way that you do.

Now...

What happens altanis if I buy x3 copies of TDU2 or Mario Sports Mix and get 15,000 SWYR points for each copy? Will you stop posting so definitively?

I have never seen a copy of TDU for PSP or PC at my Kmart and I have a pretty good idea of what they have available for inventory. Is each store getting a shipment of these games along with TDU2 to supplement the deal? Or is this basically a YMMV roll of the dice like finding Dead Space 1 was?

This is a pretty long post (longer than I intended), so I'm going to use the spoiler tags to hide it. No need to make everyone scroll a bunch because of a stupid "argument" going on.

*sigh* Really? If you want to continue arguing this point PM me. This isn't a Kmart vs Best Buy thread, and I don't intend on continuing an argument about points I have never made. I believe my exact words when comparing the two anyway included "but they're apples and oranges anyway" since one store sells nothing but electronics and one sells all kinds of things.

DVD or Blu Ray? I don't know, since I don't buy newly released ones anyway. I do know however that Kmart has had plenty of great deals on household items, and all that I've purchased work great.

I post in this thread as a consumer and a gaming enthusiast. I make a side living out of being a consumer. Best Buy, Kmart, Staples, Target, TRU... I have never once claimed that everything I say is 100% true. Even Josh has been wrong multiple times. Surprise! Things happen and things don't work how they should.
Let me know where I was wrong about the COD B1G1 50% off deal though, or the ME2 + Two Worlds II deal. If it was before Josh revealed that he didn't exempt anything from the deal, that doesn't count.
Also, grammar: than, not then.

CAG represent just a fraction of the time I spend online doing research. I respect Josh and admire what he has done for SHC. Prior to learning of the SC2 promotion I had absolutely NO interest in Kmart. Now I visit at least weekly.
Congrats. Not sure what this has to do with anything else you've written though. Seems more of a bragging thing than anything. No one cares how much time you spend online 'doing research.'

My main point is you cheapen yourself and this thread by posting as frequently and in the fashion that you do. You are NOT an honorary SHC associate; and I would pray that SHC would never hire someone that tends to others the way that you do.
1. I have never claimed I am an SHC associate.
2. I have never claimed that I would want to work for Kmart or the Sears Co. (or any other retail setting)
3. However, if I wanted, I could very well have a job at my local Kmart. They are hiring, and I know the manager of both the electronics section and the store.
4. How I act here is not representative of how I act professionally.
5. You have 0 control over who is hired within the Sears family.

What happens altanis if I buy x3 copies of TDU2 or Mario Sports Mix and get 15,000 SWYR points for each copy? Will you stop posting so definitively?
Nothing will happen, because unless you use multiple SYWR you won't get points on more than 2 copies.

Now, if you want to continue this petty squabble, I suggest you do it over PMs, as this is simply derailing the thread for no reason.

Stock Boy has 8k units of the TDU PSP arriving before launch of the game. The 360 copy has the PC download code within it so we should be good.

You should spoiler your posts more often, would make this thread much more enjoyable to read through. Quite surprised no one has asked you to cut the shit out yet, figured even Josh might have said something to you by now, treating his customers like shit.

I'm with GBA on not buying anything other than video games from kmart. Every day items they have there on average is a dollar more than you would spend at target or walmart. Even when I worked at K-Mart when I was 19, as part of the security team, bought all my stuff at wal-mart and video games at amazon.

My Kmart still has the sign up for a free 1600 pt card with the purchase of Deadspace 2. Does anyone know if they will honor that ?

Oh, they do. Then their posts mysteriously disappear. Careful what you say about him or your post will vanish too. Great work being done by the mods in this thread, hopefully Cheapy is aware of their diligence.

YMMV. The register won't recognize it, but you may get an employee that will override it. Some stores will honor a price/deal if the shelves are mistagged.

If it was the store I work at we probably would. Stuff like that really depends though, the fact thats its a free $20 they are giving away (post-deal) some managers may not honor it.

Might cancel my amazon order of killzone for kmart. How do you spend the points on your card? Do you have to redeem it on the sywr website.

You go to the store, buy something, have them scan your card, and then tell them you would like to apply your SYWR points balance to the total.

$14,000 from what? Thats not really alot for a yearly salary.

It looks like Big Brother has been busy taking down posts of people critical about a certain member of the community. Would be better if the issue was addressed instead of just censoring it.

Will the games offering rewards come back later with coupons? I'm not totally set on buying Bulletstorm or KZ3 yet but might get them if there's a good deal. I'd much rather a simple coupon over that card gimmick. I'd rather not buy the game if I have to sign up.

Signing up takes literally, one minute to do. I personally did it online and got my card about a month later.

I believe they will be making a return once some issues with the coupons are fixed. I see the coupons as being the better alternative if they can be fixed in a manner that prevents scamming. Requiring the use of a SYWR card requires the associate to be aware of the promotion to be able to tell the customer that does not present a SYWR card about it so they can sign up for the promotion. I have yet to be asked to sign up for a SYWR card from either associates in electronics or the front end cashiers.
