Know anything about billing rules for COBRA? I need help!

I live in MA and have been making COBRA payments to a company in CO since Jan. of this year. When I agreed to accept COBRA I wa told the monthly premiums would be $299.86.

Yesterday in my invoice for Oct. I found that I was being billed $376.56 for Oct. and $717.73 for Jan-Sept as an adustment because they had been billing me for the wrong medical plan.

I will be canceling Cobra with them and getting other insurance for Oct. My question is if I need to pay them the $717.73 that they are billing me retroactively for past months.

I never would have taken Cobra with them if they had told me that was going to be the monthly premium. They told me it was $299.86. Do I have to pay the $717.73 for their mistake, or am I stuck and have to pay it?

I'm not sure what the rules are for this sort of thing or who to ask. It just seems not right to me.

I coud be totally wrong but doesn't Cobra only last 9 months so your "new" premium is because you've gone beyond the timeline?
 
I assume you're unemployed? Apply for the Massachusetts Medical Security Plan. You should also go to a local job center to see what resources are available if you're looking or need assistance.

Like another poster said, call first thing on Monday and then look up a local job center.
 
Id call them and ask myself instead of asking for official information on a forum for finding cheap video games.
