Hey, do any of you have a recommendation for where to buy a replacement laptop battery? I have an HP DV6000 and I'm looking to get the 12 cell extended type. I'm tired of this damn thing saying it has 60% left then just DYING. Thanks in advance.

For replacement parts I usually just order directly from the manufacturer. So that would be from HP's website. I'm not sure how good their deals are price-wise, but its not worth it to try to buy a third-party battery.

Newegg is where I usually order my parts from, so thats also a good option.

My consensus on hardware is to always buy it new from a trusted source. So that's what I'd do.

Batteries from the retailer (hp) are in the hundreds, really not worth it. This battery that just died was bought third party OEM type deal and lasted about 2 years for less than half the cost. I just can't remember where I got it lol.

I have the same exact laptop as you (DV6105us). I love mine, but the battery life/length is a known issue that can't be resolved. Regardless of the brand (OEM or 3rd party), it will start losing capacity/stability over time. It's an issue with the laptop itself, it practically kills the battery on purpose. The best way to combat this is to buy cheap, new 12-Cell batteries from eBay for no more than $35. It will last a bit over 2 hours at first, then slowly but surely begin to decrease down to "never long enough" within a year or two.

I sometimes get jealous when I hear new laptops get 5+ hours of runtime, but after upgrading the hard drive, maxing the RAM, replacing the LCD screen (it fell once while in the laptop bag, landed square on the corner: $90 shipped from eBay + 20 minutes of work brought it back to life), 3 batteries, and a few conveniently located AC Adapters around the house (kitchen table, couch, bed, etc) it's been a 4-year companion that's never given me a single problem other than the battery.
