Hello all, I am getting a laptop and I just had a couple of questions. I was looking at getting the core duo processor, and I was wondering what was the difference between the 1.6ghz T2050 and the 1.6 ghz T2300. I also had a question regarding the Graphics card I get with it. Will I see a huge difference if I get the ATI X1300 rather than the ATI X1400? will I be able to play a game like Oblivion with the ATI x1300, 1.6 duo core processor, and 1 gb of ram?

The t2050 runs at 1.6 ghz with a 533mhz FSB and the t2300 runs at 1.66 with a 667mhz fsb, making the t2300 a bit faster, but in most side to side comparisons, its not going to make any noticible difference. Id look more at what chipset the MB has. Some of the motherboards can take core 2 duos (merom) if you flash the bios, but some cant. I cant remember off the top of my head which chipsests do and which dont, though.

I can't speak from experience with either of those video cards, but on Oblivion's site, the x1400 isn't even listed as supported.

Supported Video Card Chipsets:

* ATI X1900 series
* ATI X1800 series
* ATI X1600 series
* ATI X1300 series
* ATI X850 series
* ATI x800 series
* ATI x700 series
* ATI x600 series
