These folks were packed in tight, and kept their cars nearby and running for warmth.
An eerie silence lingered in the air. Likely due to frostbite.

No sissy idling cars here. These were a rowdy bunch, demanding $5 a picture. I dare not get too close, hence the slightly blurry images.

There were at least 30 people at each location. The Vernon Hills folk were more prepared and more entertaining. The Gurnee folk were wussies. Running cars indeed.

Good stuff you got there.

It's 2:45 am here and I was thinking of going out to see what the Best Buy looks like, meh, I dunno. Maybe.

im part of that car crowd. i slept in the car on the original launch night outside of sams club. youll get no bonus points from me for freezing your ass off. just ass points. i thought about heading out tonight, but its just too damned cold plus i already have one. i might drive by in an hour or so though just to see whats going on. my best buy is out in the sticks so im curious about how many people will be camping out. if its less than 24 ill stick around.

..you give out ass points?

Yeah, people are crazy...
I can't imagine going through so much trouble for something so unimportant.
I'm wondering if these guys are trying to score a 360 for eBay resale or for a Xmas gift.
Either way...it's nuts.

You have got to be shitting me.

There's at least 100 people lined up (on foot) in front of my local Best Buy. Lined up WAY out into the parking lot, too, rather than doing the obvious act of lining up under the canopies on the mall sidewalk.

Our Best Buy had a nice tent set up by Best Buy to offer protection to maybe 5-10 people.

It was prety cold here to. I didnt mind with pics though.

I don't have any pictures, but I was lucky enough to get one (premium, no bundle) from bestbuy.com at 7:44 AM Eastern. I had planned to camp out at home in my slippers and PJs from 7am to 11am this morning until they came in stock (the writing was on the wall).

I went up to Best Buy with my friend because he wanted to get one. The lines were already about 30 people long and they had tents and sleeping bags around 8pm. It is near freezing out. So we just went home. Luckily I already got my xbox 360.

My girlfriend took solace in that I may be a dork, but not THAT big of one while we watched the news about more people in line for a 360. I understand the parents waiting in line because they actually want to get it for thier kids, but the ones doing it because thier little shit wont stop annoying them until they buy one hopefully didnt get ticket to teach them and thier kids a lesson. Damn im jaded sometimes...

again looking at these pictures i have to thank CAG and my fellow CAG'ers. If not for this site I might have been out there freezing my arse off with these guys, but no...because of pimpinc and this site i was aware of the "unkown" launch at sams. noone was at sams when the opened up at 7am with 48 systems, but in the same town later that day people were camping out at BB (started at 7 pm) for 20 systems. so it pays to be cheap.

and just for an added bonus, my gf who went with me to sams asked how i knew that they were getting some when everyone else was talking about BB's shipments. i told her i found out from here and she was like "those guys are good"

i got some pics from our score, but noone camping out or anything. i might try and get them up regardless.

I spent all night doing the "Honk your horn" Trucker sign to people, and telling people that asked what we were waiting for was a Life size Furby. It was a fun -4 with hand warmers and hot coco a plenty while people took turns sleeping in cars.

These fuckpots kept the cars running *all night* for heat? Some stereotypes about gamers must certainly be true; the inability to function in an outdoor environment being one of them.

Someone needs to tell these motherfuckers about Coleman products. fuckin' sissies can't even stay out all night so they can stay inside the rest of the winter with their 360.

EDIT: Thanks for the pics, btw.

wow, makes me feel bad for just walking into target last monday morning and going back to electronics and picking one up with no one else around

when I see pictures like that, I feel even more lucky that I didn't have to camp out for my 360. it's raining pretty bad here up in Northern California, and I can't even imagine having to wait outside in this crap just to get a system. Even worse was that it was raining all last night too.

I saw people camped out at the Reynoldsburg, Ohio, BB. When it is this DAMN COLD in some places I was wondering why the managers of BB didn't come out and distribute some kind of tix so they could come back in the morning, some of those people had to have been there for hours and it was only 8 pm. I know it is free pub for BB on the news and such but doing that to customers is bullshit.

this is retarded.
when I went to BB yesterday to do some xmas shopping at noon, our line was already 6 tents deep; no telling how many people in each one. Just to give an idea of how cold... 20s with a wind chill plus added snowfall all day long.

I thought about doing it until the temperature said "You are a moron to stand out for a video game system"

This is the first time people have camped out in nashville (360 launch) IIRK. I went to target around 630am (opened at 7) for my gamecube and was about 4th in line. I dont understand why people would wait in 10 degree weather to get a video game console... Im glad I won mine and didnt have to freeze my ass off or pay!

I don't think anyone would campout in KC, MO last night. I was outside at 1am when I got off of work and it was a mix of snow and ice rain. I love my x360 and all but it's not worth that or paying extra on ebay. Oh well, I hope some kids have a happy X-mas.

And I hope to see you at TRU Thrusday morning lordopus.

The local BB had people in line at 11am Saturday morning, and it was cold here last night plus it was snowing. I heard they had 24 systems, and had almost 40 people in line.

Damn, these people are nuts. I preordered mine and got it on launch day. All I had to do was stand outside the mall at 7am for the 1st shift security guard to let us in. We had to wait about 20 minutes in 30 degree weather. That alone was hard to handle. I couldn't imagine 10-15 hours outside in even colder weather. I must be a wuss. I guess it didn't help that I had no coat on either though...

I guess I'm one of the wusses too. I got mine on launch and didn't have to wait a second in line to pay.

What's the only thing that would get gamers this obsessed out of their house for more than a few minutes? A new game system.

I don't get it. I saw people lined up outside my local Best Buy in Rochester, Michigan the night before. At like 8 pm there must have been 30-40 people, which is already more than the number of systems they had. While I'm sure a couple of them were friends-of-buyers, you'd think SOMEONE in that line with the appropriate knowledge would have had the heart to say "Um...sorry, you guys are out of luck, no sense freezing your balls off just to get nothing" to the last 7-8 people in line.
