LBP, Gran Turismo, NBA The Inside 10 (PSP) $10 at KMART YMMV

aleraiders

CAGiversary!
READ FIRST - regular games in the glass cases scan at full price (you need the generic upc/sticker on the back) people have posted price matching at another KMART, US only version, so good luck see pics below

ALSO NOTE - i was looking threw the games and saw that these games are translated in english and french but, there are still in region 1, so they should be playable, thats why there $9.99

i was told that PSP games are all playable, no matter what region, u can play japanese games on a US psp (vice versa)

People have reported seen these older games for $9.99

the con
hot shots golf
Loco Roco 2
Final Fantasy Crisis Core
Metal Gear Portable Ops
Secret Agent Clank
Prince of Persia Rival Swords
and other older titles

NEW TITLES

LittleBigPlanet
Gran Turismo
NBA THE Inside 10

as i dug more in the pile i kept finding newer and newer games

update - people have been reporting finding these deals across the country, but on the other note no dice for some, so its definently YMMV, or the pricing team hasnt got around to pricing these games yet

update #2 - KMART restocks these "9.99" games, so keep checking up in the electronics dept

- most people find them in green carboard clearance bins (some on a clearance shelf)
- the have a green sticker stating "9.99"
- on the back theres a generic upc/sticker covering the original upc

see pics (see below)
store manager told me the games are special promo items sent to stores, hence the special upc stickers. once they are gone, they're gone. good luck! I was only able to get LBP. Awesome deal, so thanks to the OP.
im guessing the original upc will scan at full price, this is too good of a deal for other KMART's to match others stores prices, if u get a down to earth employee who cares about customer service maybe, but since these versions are english/french, they may or may not notice the difference
Started this TL for those CAG's unable to score any at their K-Marts: http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?p=6621003#post6621003
please note, im not KMART shopper, my wife had to use the restroom and KMART was right there, lots of people and long lines, so this was shear luck, but i soon will start stalking KMART

Found the green bin at my Kmart with GT, and LBP in it. The GT was labeled $9.99 and had sticker sku on back, but the game I wanted (LBP) had no price or sticker sku on back. It was in the bin though, and was the version with the other language on cover, but couldn't convince the guy at counter it was supposed to be $10. He scanned the sku on the box iteslf, and it rang up $39.99. Bummer.

Thanks, OP! Picked up one copy of Gran Turismo, LBP and NBA 10: The Inside (all marked $9.99 each). Hooray!

My K-Mart sucks just like Rainman's brother said. I went today around noon and didn't see any green bin. I didn't see any bargain priced games. It's the damnedest thing, but there's never anyone working in the electronics department to ask either. I've attempted to find deals there on several occasions and I'm always SOL. One day I'll learn that those deals just don't ever come to my K-Mart I guess.

Anyone here who got some of the games happen to see what Gamestop's trade in value is for them? As of three months ago, GT is worth $15ish, but what about Little Big Planet?

As noted above, these are Canadian versions. Gamestop usually won't take them because the UPC is different. As such, these are for playing only, not for flipping.

I went about 2pm today and picked up the last 2 of Gran Turisimo and the Last Little big Planet in Athens, GA.
Holy crap.. was actually able to get in on this deal! Time to dust off the ol PSP so I can play Little Big Planet!!!
and thats after u doubted the deal (accused me of photoshopping), karma wasnt on my side on this one
Yeah, just noticed that while looking at my copy of Gran Turismo. What the hell is Canadian versions doing in stores in the U.S. though? Never seen it before till now.
thats exactly what i was thinking, canadian games in california??? but since PSP games are universal there isnt a problem, many places do sell english/foreign language games (frys, walmart, target, etc etc), its rare but i have seen it

You can just trade it in disc only

Saw this thread when it started. Was gonna call Shennanigans but looked at his post count and decided to check my Kmart. Missed them first visit, came home, read the thread updates, went friggen back and there they were.

Thanks OP, got one of each I wanted; NBA 10, GT and LBP

Really? Where they in the case? I went there at about 1pm and only saw two little big planets in the case.
Has anyone checked a Sears?
Sears had their own set of clearance. The Sears I checked had $10 games, but they were blue stickers and undesirable games (The Con, Hot Shots Golf).
I just traded GT at a gamestop. The girl scanned and it came up with $15. So saying they won't take it is false.
You bought a $10 (+tax) game to flip it for a few measly dollars? Ugh...
Yeah, just noticed that while looking at my copy of Gran Turismo. What the hell is Canadian versions doing in stores in the U.S. though?
Who the hell cares, look at how cheap they are!

Playing LBP now.. fantastic translation from the PS3 version!
I must go to kmart... when do they open? 8am?
I would check the store locator on the website. Some of them have special holiday hours and open at 6am. (I plan on going tomorrow.)

Went to two KMarts and found one lone copy of Little Big Planet so I picked it up.

Also noticed there were some fairly rare (to find sealed) Harvest Moon DS games in the bin: Harvest Moon: Island of Happiness and Harvest Moon DS Cute. Both were $14.99 each.

Thanx ale this is one of the best deals of the season (amazon's tekken6 stick package for $29 is #1 though.) I found these at the front of the store by customer service in the green box. I did see other 9.99 PSP games in clearance electronics section so look hard and ask for help.

I bought GT and LBP for $21 and going to get somewhere around $36 for em, not a bad flip IMO

Thank you OP. Scored 2 Gran Turismos (Love the cover for this game. It is the BEST cover for any car game ever.) and 1 Little Big Planet. I also got the Singstar Amped, Rocks, Pop and Vol. 1 bundles for $15 each.

Where in CA are you? Please tell me near LA...

I was just reading the first couple pages of this thread and I gotta say those who were criticizing the OP for photoshopping the $9.99 sticker and UPC barcode must feel like stupid fucks. Give somebody the benefit of the doubt before putting them down and saying they lied.

Yeah, I have no clue why everyone automatically goes to the photoshopping accusation. I'm not even sure that has ever happened here.

old frickin news...quit trying to stir a pot, wise up/grow up and read the subsequent posts from those members....

Whaaat? This is for real? Maybe I'll have to change my mind about not buying UMDs cause LBP at this price is crazy. Or maybe I'll try selling it on eBay and use whatever money I get from that towards the purchase of the PSN version.

I can confirm this as a deal, as odd as it is for one.

They also have Singstar and Singstar 2 for PS3 for $15 each, with the microphones. There's also PS2 ones, Secret Agent Clank for PSP, and other games as well.

DAMN. I've been SO lucky with customer service today. First I managed to convince a K-Mart employee this morning to let me have the normal-priced LittleBigPlanet for $9.99 (as stated earlier in the thread- he really went out on a limb with his job to help me out, taking my word that it was supposed to be $9.99 in the bargain bin). I thought it was great to get one at that price.

After that, though, I called another K-Mart 40 miles away to see if they had any LBP or GT- they had 2-3 of each (according to the employee I talked to on the phone). Since I didn't have the time to drive out that far, I printed out pictures from the OP, went to Wal-Mart, picked out a couple copies of LBP and GT, took them to the register, called the K-Mart employee, and asked her to repeat what she told me earlier to the Wal-Mart employee. The lady behind the counter asked the typical questions: "How much is it?" "What platform are they on?" "What store is this?" "Do you have them in stock?" and once she was done talking with the person on the phone, she had customer service come and override every single one of the games. O_O

Well, I know what I'm giving my friends who have PSPs for Christmas. :p And if you live in Tennessee and it wouldn't be too far, the K-Mart in Crossville has 2-3 copies of LBP and GT as of late this afternoon. :D

Oh yes, I feel like a total fool, how ever will I recover? Give me a break. It's an insane deal posted by a guy that hasn't even been here a quarter of a year. Hell, he can't even get an established franchise's name correct, despite him purchasing the title and taking a picture of it. There was every reason to be skeptical.

I stopped by a local Kmart today, and their bargain bin didn't have jack in it. Some old Xbox 360 games, some ancient DS games and Fight Night Round 3 on the PSP...for $20 smacks. A real smack...in the face if you ask me

I may try to price match, as all I need is the UPC in the OP picture and a copy of LBP off the shelf, correct? Or am I mistaken?

Anyway, I hate going to Kmart for anything. Finding something you want there is like trying to find a Beef Wellington meal in a Food 4 Less.

well well well, how come everyone THINKS that a "newbie's" life started when they joined CAG???????? my life didnt start when i joined this site, this isnt the first time someone has jumped on my back, (got "silenced" because i said TRU's arent universal, i should of just lied and said they were), and ur a CAG veteran who should know better than to assume a newbie is lying and decieving everyone, i guess everyone is guilty untill proven innocent in ur eyes

and whats this about getting an established name right?

tell me about it

I just came back from mine (its a 24-7 one) They had NOTHING... The electronic section was gated off lol.. So I got someone to open it up (they had a bing full of clearance games.. Was all a bunch of old garbage games. The only PSP games that were priced at 9.99 were Hot shots golf and the con. Needless to say I am quite dissapointed. I have been getting some insanely good deals on PSP games lately brand new ones.. So I would hoping to add to it. Hopefully my cousin can luck out for us tomorrow when he goes to the one he lives by.

Sorry this was in Atascadero, about 3.5 hrs north on the 101.

I had pretty good luck at my local Kmarts. Snagged the last LBP and Gran Turismo PSP at the first one as well as Silent Hill Homecoming (PS3) for 19.99 and Twilight Princess on the Gamecube for 14.97. I grabbed the last LBP and Gran Turismo PSP at the other store in my area as well - should make for good X-mas presents for my friends.

Thanks for posting this deal!

LBP and GTA are great flips, with the 30% extra credit coupon in the weekend email and 10% edge got $39.55 in credit and used that to get Metroid Prime Trilogy, The Conduit Special Edition, and Fallout 3 (360) in the B2G1 and only paid $30. Thank you very much OP
