lcd tv brand advice?

CAGiversary!
What's the best lcd tv brand right now?

I've been checking amazon lately for lcd tv, maybe around 32 inch. Check some deals on warehouse.

Still undecided on what brand should I get. I did some research though...

So far I found that Samsung is so-so. They also have bad customer service, as what the reviews on amazon said.

I was thinking about either Panasonic or Toshiba. A friend told me that Toshiba tvs are good? is that true?

Sharp are kinda expensive. So is Sony.

Need advice. Thanks in advance.

Also are the tvs on amazon warehouse covered by the manufacturer's warranty?

How exactly did you conclude that Samsung is just so-so? They are one of best for LCD's, and most sets have excellent user reviews. Granted I haven't looked at their 32" line so perhaps reviews aren't as good for those. Other good brands are Sharp, and Panasonic.

Samsung seems to be regarded as the best LCD manufacturer at the moment. I've always had great luck with Philips though as well. I have a 32" Magnavox and after only a couple years the color is really starting to darken on the top left of the screen and spreading towards the right at a rather alarming rate.

I have had a 32in Toshiba for almost three years with no issues at all. My LG is working great as well. Honestly, as long as you stick with major brands you should be fine.

I have to say that if you want the absolute best quality, go with Samsung. They are the best hands down.:applause:

Right now, I can't there are any "bad" brands out there. Besides store brands since I don't know where they get their TVs from. Samsung, Sony, LG, Toshiba, Sharp, and Vizio are all good. Of course there are lemons out of the millions of TVs they manufacture, but that's just how it is.

I've had great experiences with Samsung.
Have a 46" Plasma that is 5 years old and just recently bought a 55" LCD off of Amazon warehouse deals. They're both fantastic TV's and I haven't had any issues with either of them.

When I got my TV through warehouse deals it came with a 90 day manufacture's warrenty. I spent an extra $40 on a 2-year warranty from SquareTrade (sold on Amazon) and I'm really happy with it.

If you stick with the major brands you should be fine.
Enjoy your new TV...I love getting new electronics! :D

I thought about it some more. I did have a friend that brought a Samsung LCD that stopped working. I changed a capacitor on his circuit board and it has worked fine since. It was a very early model

Didn't expect alot of positive reviews for Samsung. That's good to know. Thanks for the advice.

I've been checking those 3 tvs lately. What do you think? Looks like most people either have Samsung or Vizio.

I was leaning towards Toshiba, but I got to admit it was my first time hearing them making tvs. I thought they only do mostly computers.

Anybody have access to consumer report? It would be nice to know which brand got a good rating.

Toshiba makes very good sets. I have a 27 inch tube that I let a buddy of mine use (cause I didn't want to move and my roommate has several sets). I got it back in 2003 for my birthday and it's still going strong to this day.

I got a 32in Toshiba Regeza 720p back in Feb '08 and it's still going strong to this day. The reason I got the Toshiba was due to reviews and the fact it had the largest number of inputs of any other tv in my price range. 3 HDMI, 2 Component, 2 Av, 1 S-video, and one VGA for a PC.
This is the set:

Honestly, I don't think you will disappointed in any of those sets.
