There's really no excuse as to why they didn't have the other two campaigns available in versus mode. If they weren't finished, the game shouldn't have launched when it did. It wasn't done. I understand they want to get it out for the Holiday, but to ship it unfinished is inexcusable.
I'm also willing to bet those 12 "maps" they're touting are just different spots in each of the 4 campaigns. "Survival" is probably already on the disc already, just needs to be activated.
All shit that should have been available from the start.
Don't be dumb, they didn't release the game unfinished... so two campaign maps were missing from versus, did they promise those 2 maps on release..? No, you just expected them.
Yeah your totally right about survival, it's already on the disc and just needs to be activated, because Valve is totally known for removing content so they can give it away for FREE. Unbelievable.
Who the hell are you trying to kid, this is Valve, not Namco.
Mmm no. Trakan's right. The game should have come with more. Why the

would anyone pay to get ACCESS to shit that you can already play in one mode but not in another? This whole thing should never have been called DLC and instead a "patch" since all it does is give the player more access to features they already paid for. And Survivor mode probably cost them very little. A few lines of code telling the game when and how many Zombies to throw at the player at a certain time on maps they already own should not cost the player any money.
I expect Valve to do this with the Orange Box, if the fabled patch ever comes out for TF2. I expect a free patch that fixes and re-balances the game to match the PC version, but a pay-for-DLC pack of new maps and modes.
What stupid logic, try reading the back of Left 4 Dead, or anywhere that lists the specifications of L4D, no where does it mention that 4 campaign maps will be included in versus, so you actually did get what you paid for. You believe your entitled to something that was never promised to you in the first place, pretty stupid if you ask me. Take some time and check how long and tedious it is to transform these maps over to versus, as a PC mod has already been made.
And it is DLC, not a patch.. patch's generally do not include new gametypes and extra maps. What about games that charge you $5 for an extra character (Soul Calibur 4), or how about $25 worth of DLC that actually makes it the full version (Lumines)
Probably cost them very little, all they had to do was add a line of code..? Oh I forgot, you program for Valve, and obviously help market the game too. Hilarious though, as this "code" you described is actually what the AI director does, but you program for Valve remember, so that's alright. I don't remember reading anywhere that survivor mode will be played on maps we already own, but I guess you know everything.
They're gonna patch it pro bono, but expect to pay for the new maps/modes. You can't expect MS to let Valve give actual content out on the marketplace for free. This L4D "DLC" can hardly be considered content since they're just changing the content that you already own and paid for.
Why can't we expect MS to give content out for free..? Shouldn't that be one benefit of Xbox Live gold, instead of exclusive demos and online play. Doesn't matter anyway, the PC gets all the patches first, higher resolutions, mods that create new campaigns, etc. (Already a dawn of the dead campaign almost finished) as well as all the DLC.. plus I'd hate to play with the same people who play Halo 3 and COD, downright scary.
I agree that it being free is a good thing. I'm not shitting on the fact that it's taking a few months, I'm just saying that everyone who's saying "Valve - 1, MS - 0" and "I'm glad it's free!" that the shit should have been free in the first place.
Hilarious you say this "patch" should have been free.. I mean for

s sake, Xbox Live SHOULD have been free in the frist place. You whine about getting something for free, that YOU think should have been in the game in the first place, but yet you have no trouble spending $50 a year for nothing more than P2P online gaming... oh, and exclusive demos.
And for good measure, Valve >> Microsoft
