LEGO Deals 2

I got lucky today and found Cannibal Escape at Target for 9.xx. I hope those Ninjas survive to 40 cents too. No one seems to be buying them but me.

My target had the white ninja ninjago for $0.39, as well as the republic attack cruiser and The Lego city helicopter. Strangely, the toy story army man jeep ran up at full price.

Shelf was still marked at full price, I only cleared 1 shelf of the ninjas, and only a handful of Lego city and star wars.

In true CheapAssGamer form (or in this case, CheapAssAFOL) I always want to maximize my savings and free stuff at LEGO stores. November's promotions are the Pick a Brick box for $75 and the second Christmas set for $99. Teeny tiny fine print says "not valid with other offers", but does anyone know if the stores will look past that? Or is this just wishful thinking to get two free things for a $100 purchase?

Thoughts or past experiences?

lol.... I saw that too, I went to a Target I rarely go too but I know they always have polybags but they had the same exact thing.

I've received dual promotions in the past but I used to shop there all the time, I don't go as much since there clearance sales or damaged goods haven't been as good as they used to be. I think it would just depend on your store or who is checking you out.

Since the blu-rays were released a couple weeks ago, I've been on a Star Wars kick. Just yesterday I stumbled upon the Lego Millennium Falcon while wandering through the aisles of Target. My jaw hit the floor in awe. I didn't buy it because it was marked at approx $150, but I have not been able to find it anywhere else at a significantly discounted rate.

Where / how can I find this for a sub $100 price? BTW what is a good price for this collection?

With Black Friday approaching, I'm optimistic that a nice deal will surface, but I thought I would ask here first. Thank you!

Just got 50+ of the Ninja/Firefighter/Atlantis polybags in the Ft. Lauderdale area, all at .39 each. Still plenty left. Got the "You saved $190!" look from the cashier as I checked out...

Just keep an eye out on this thread, your two weeks too late. You could have had for $90ish at TRU.

Polybags are .39 around me too. Surprised how quickly they dropped since I'm so used to waiting weeks for video games to drop. Grabbed a bunch but left a ton more. Glad whoever cleared out all the Lego gift cards around me didn't turn around and use them to clear out the polybags.

^That's what I did - at my local Target today I bought 3 gift cards with $5 on each one (so that I can build 1 each of the 3 animals). Then in a separate transaction spent that entire $15 on 39cent polybags - that is just too good a deal to pass up. I lucked out and found 1 last SW AAT, in the LEGO aisle of all places, plus about 5 Atlantis subs and 30 or so white ninjas with glider by the registers. :D

Darn....now I'm tempted to go back and buy even more...just wish my stores still had the White Ninja polybags....for 40 cents, it may be worth driving to a further away Target to find out.

If you are looking for the .40 polybags, I would go today or tomorrow. The price is lowered because for some reason, they are on the Halloween markdown schedule which went 90% today at my store. 90% only lasts a day or 2 and then the left over goes to salvage and the prices go back up.

4 gift cards, 20 ninjas, 4 Atlantis divers, one firefighter, one super deluxe Boba Fett costume, one Pirate costume, big bag of skittles, pack of Ghost Princess squinkies, and 2 boxes of toothpaste for $20.21 OTD. :)

It was a fun day for me today.

Also saw they put out two Christmas polybags: Kingdoms target practice (is this one a pun?), and for the heathens: a Harry Potter with some potions on a desk. The HP will be nice if it goes on clearance since the potions are the same ones used in the Heroica sets.

Went to three different Targets and only found 12 $.39 sets: 6 Atlantis and 6 Fire; 10 of those were from one store, 1 each from the rest. Lots of empty/nearly empty pegs with some TS Jeeps, so someone else must've cleaned out all but what I took in the last several days. I certainly don't need 40 ninjas, but it would've been nice to grab at least one or two...

I was going to go yesterday but my stomache was all messed up. Hit up three Targets today, and each was cleared out. A little dissapointed, but I was happy to score what I did at $1.19 so I can't be too down.

Plus it wasn't all a waste - I did manage to score the last two Lego Giftcards at one store today. So though my dream of a white Ninja or Atlantis diver army are dashed, I'm still content.

The Ninja legos hit 39 cents at my store and I was able to buy 50 of them today.

I can't believe anyone is still finding ninjas or Venator Cruisers, let alone 50. So lucky. A very generous CAG is hooking me up with some ninjas, so all is not lost. Did manage to find two AATs today; nice little build there.
I have yet to see any sub-$1 polybags. You all are lucky beeps :p
I haven't even seen a polybag at Target in months. The two that I go to are the bastard children of the company and never really follow other sales.

My local target never got around to putting out the ninjago polys, but they put about 50 of them out today...the same day they dropped them out of the system to go to salvage. I asked 3 different employees with scanning guns to give me a price and two said they couldn't sell them while the third said $3.99. I'll try again tomorrow or start checking the local Goodwill.

If anyone can still find these I will take as many as you can get. My sons first grade class does a little store. The kids earn money all year that they can spend at the end of each month. The parents donate to the store, and these would be awesome for them. I looked at all the targets near Layton Utah the last 2 days and no luck. I also have my dad checking the stores near Vero beach and no luck there either. Like I said if you can find them I will take them, and use them for good.

Also I saw 2 new polybags at my stores for x-mas, a Harry Potter one, and a Kingdoms one.

Is this 25% off TRU MSRP of $169.99 or the big book price of $129.99? I would probably grab this if it was the later making it about $100 ($90 with the $10 off a $100 purchase coupon I got with the big book.)

Same thing happened to me. fuck. Oh well. I did get a box of 1980s Legos at a tagsale for $3. Came with two yellow classic space torsos. They look new.

First Target I went to today, all the polybags were back at 3.99. Couple other stores were cleared out and by the evening at the final Target, the bags were out of the system.

Nice to see another Utahn on here. As I recall cassidyarch is also from this area. I'm just a temporary transplant here from Washington. I bought my ninjas at American Fork Target and there were still a ton left (I limited myself to the $15.00 on my giftcards), but that was a few days ago. Call them first before you drive all the way down there. I popped in a few other Targets further north on my way home from work yesterday and they were both completely cleaned out of the polybags. Lets see... in the Layton area, you have Layton, Centerville, and Riverdale/Ogden Targets. Just check out eBay and look up the sets using a local search and you will see where all the sets from those stores likely went. There is a seller from Roy, UT (which is right in your neck of the woods, as you know) who is selling multiples of the SW and Ninjago polybags. I strongly suspect he/she is the one who snagged all the cheap polys from those 3 Targets near you. Although at least he/she isn't scalping them - I think the BIN prices are less than $3 each, which is even below retail (but still a good profit for the seller).

To be safe, I would say off of MSRP.

The ad lists sale prices 22.49 - 119.99. I assume the red cargo train would be $119.99 as that's 25% off of $159.99, since no other set listed is that much. But with recent glitches online, I would definitely see if any double dipping could occur.

Brickset has a list of 2012 sets online at LegoShop.com.

The Dino sets are the most insane priced sets I have seen. Might as well just call it Star Wars. $12 for 80 pieces! Even half off that's hardly a deal. I'll just wait until the theme fails like all the other Dino themes have.

wow that's insane on those dino prices

I sure hope Target clearances them all!

I think they are at least $5-10 too much....

The dinos must take up way too much plastic.

The little dino (raptor?) is actually made from rubber. I saw someone with the set on Flickr complaining about that fact.

I have the worst Target in the world. Almost every single deal CAGers talk about for Target never gets to mine. Sad face. But I still check it everytime! LOL.

Man, you're not kidding. I really liked the sets, then I looked at the prices and didn't like them so much. Call me shallow, I guess.

Wal-Mart is going to have a 1,600 piece "XXL" tub of basic bricks on Black Friday for $30. Not exactly worth waiting in line or fighting off crazies for, but last year's deal on LEGO was available online, so there's a chance this one will be as well.

If anyone in the Northern Virginia area can score me an ATT or Harry Potter bag, I'd appreciate it. I haven't seen either one of them anywhere, and I bought the only cruiser I ever saw.

I haven't seen the ATT or any Star Wars ones, but I did see the Harry Potter one $4 and the Kingdoms with the tree for $3.50. I also saw the pegs! it turns out one of them has pegs and the other one has about 4-5 pegs near a different entrance.

good size of mixed bricks.

If they did it like last year, they'll have it available at midnight if you want to wait for it.

Online might be nice though.

not sure if it's been listed, but Target (at least in my area) has a small 64/65 piece holiday set that comes free that's attached to a gift card. Since the gift card can be spent, it's actually a free set.

The new sets should start showing up in stores as early as this weekend. My store will be unloading them tonight. They should have already been unloaded but my stores night crew wanted a night off....

Dino and Ninja Go sets are at the local TRU in SJ ... and they're B1G1 50% off ...

BUT

I figured I needed a crazy story to mark my return to the LEGO board ...

Got this at TRU today for $12.99 ...

img0544tmwbk.jpg

Here's the crazy story ... sorry guys, it's one of those random luck things. So I'm randomly at TRU and see all these new Dino sets on the LEGO aisle, also some of the new NinjaGo snake sets (those look cool, btw) and I just happen to be holding the T-Rex set (last one) and this lady walks towards me followed by a CSR, and she's saying "See, he's holding the last one right there." So she asks me where I got it and I point to the space I picked it up in and there's a $12.99 tag under it (for something else, I mean we all know how the TRU Lego section is). So she's telling the CSR that it was obviously $12.99 and I'm thinking to myself, "Is this lady nuts, there's no way ..." But the CSR takes down the tag and says "Ok, we'll honor it for you Miss." And I sheepishly ask, "So uh, can I get this one for that price too?" And they honored it ... so ... yeah, it was absolutely crazy and I felt a bit bad, but I had to grab at the opportunity.

TLDR ... yeah, got a 2012 $80 set for $12.99 ... sweeeet!

I completely agree actually, I was looking at the set and thinking there's no way in hell I'd pay $80 for 400 something pieces! But for $12.99 ... well, it was either that or the little set ;-)

Damn, I wish I was in the USA....I'm so jealous.

Good thing the sets are already out primm....son made his Santa list with 70% being the new sets he saw...I started freaking out how Santa was going to get those 2012 sets. He's already questioning Santa, since there weren't very many toys last Xmas....I couldn't pay the European prices last year, but gonna buck down and buy Legos here, or he'll stop believing in Santa!!
