Let Us Lament On Long Past Dead Sodas
" Everyone should try Pineapple Fanta. It's AMAZING."

Oh man that shit is godlike, but impossible to find here on the West Coast.
That's the only place I've ever seen it. I'm in SoCal, and nearly every Ralph's carries it. :)

I was a big Crystal Pepsi fan. Surge too. It's a shame Josta is missing; I drank that all the time. It disappeared suddenly, but I found out it was still being sold east of here (for a time, anyway...). Fortunately I had a friend in Cleveland who would bring a few cases with him when he'd visit. :)

Anyone remember Welch's Sparkling Lemonade? I had a can of that once from a vending machine outside a KMart. That was years ago, and I haven't seen it since.

Back in NY it's everywhere, but they only seem to carry Grape and Orange here in WA.
Josta and Surge both gone...that's like the last two years of high school, man.
QFT. You can make a decent approximation of Surge by mixing mountain dew and sprite.

So, I worked for a company that was sponsored by "Black Cherry Vanilla Coca-Cola." It was awful. God awful. Pretty much everyone who tasted it (and this was in Atlanta, I dunno if it ever got a nation-wide release), concurred that it was "not enough cherry, not enough vanilla." Pretty much imagine combining half a cherry coke and half a vanilla coke, and that's what you were drinking.

Sadly, as sponsoring partners, we had cases upon cases of this stuff at the office, and since we were cheap, we drank it... a lot.

No one has said the right answer yet.

Mr. fucking Pibb. PiBB Xtra is not the same thing, dammit.

Pepsi Blue and Vanilla Coke were great too.

I always enjoyed the sugar rush of a fine Nitro Cola when I stopped at the liquor store that sold us cigarettes during high school. I never was a fan of Jolt.

IIRC, Nitro is from the St. Louis area. Perhaps it is still around?

wow i didn't even realize that Pibb was techincally gone

the corporate site breaks it down nice and evil

In 2001, Pibb Xtra was introduced as a bolder version of the original Mr. Pibb taste. Its bold taste and graphics appeal to young adults who are looking to get the most out of life and the most out of their soft drink. It appeals to teens who are just gaining independence from home and looking for things to call their own. :| The soft drink enables them to have an uninhibited, fun and unconventional attitude and touts the sweet, refreshing bold taste they need to express their independence.

You guys don't know soda until you drink Manzanita Sol. Its a mexican apple soda. It use to sell only in Mexico, I recently saw it at a U.S.Wal-Mart.
Also try Manzanita Lift.

EDIT: Exclusive, I always took this for granted
Yoli (Lime flavored, from the state of Guerrero)

The upside down 7up was good. dnL
Anyone here old enough to remember Rondo- The Thirst Crusher!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rondo_(soft_drink)

I used to drink it on Friday nights watching the Dukes of Hazzard and the Incredible Hulk, while sitting about a foot away from the TV set. Those were the days...
:oldman:
I was waiting for this to be mentioned . I barely remember it [I only remeber having it once] .
All I coould think was Rondo ? Rondo ? Why do they call it Rondo ?

Also what's the deal with Cherry Fanta ?

Is it only for use in Slurpee/Frozen Coke machines or what ?
Do they sell it as pop ?

Does anyone remember Like ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Like_Cola

Vanilla Coke's gone?? I loved that stuff.

This is depressing. It's like I wake up to find that everything I care about is gone.
Do they still make Mountain Dew Code Red? They don't carry it at my gas station anymore. I don't know if it's dead or if they stopped carrying it.
I see it in most stores/machines that I pass by. Only fast food place that I've seen that still has it is Taco Bell.

You can get Cherry Fanta at Zaxby's. Best reason to go there, IMO.

When I was in college, I drank Diet Crystal Pepsi all the time - I loved the stuff! I only drank the diet because I hate the taste of Pepsi and the Diet stuff tasted better.

Dr Slice was also awesome! But it kinda made your teeth red - morso than most red sodas.

Personally, I still like a nice Tab, just because...well...it's Tab. About once a year, if I find a case, I'll buy it and rub it in everyone's face.

The BIGGEST soda I miss: Mountain Dew. Not just any Mountain Dew - but Dew in a glass bottle on a hot summer day. Dew just tastes better in a glass bottle...

dnL (which wasn't bad) reminded me of 7Up Gold. Anyone remember that? IIRC, it was introduced at the same time as Cherry 7up, but was like a ginger ale and was nasty as hell...

Finally a fellow Dr. Slice fan. I thought this thread was going to die before anyone else posted it.

I went to Taco Bell with my friend once and he told the guy at the register that he wanted Orange Slice. I was like "Matt, they haven't made Orange Slice in like... a decade." And the Taco Bell guy just gave him Crush.... pisses me off because now he thinks that he was right and I was wrong.

You're lucky being able to have Orange Crush at restaurants. The only place I can find the stuff in Austin is the local HEBs and all they have is 6 glass bottle for $2.50. As for the Orange Slice, I think it is still being made. A chain of sandwich shops, Jersey Mike's, carries the stuff in their soda fountain.

I think Dr. Slice is still at some pizza places, i'll have to check. BTW I retraat my statement about Dr. Pepper Red Fusion sucking, if it is now cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper I need proof.

And, Pepsi Blue tastes like fizzy nasty Koolaid. Mt Dew Pitch Black is better then that stuff, and that's not saying much.

Hmm, I thought they had discontinued that around the same time as Apple Slice.

I might have to collect sodas after seeing all these discontinued types. I wish I could find Pineapple Crush around here, but I can't. Everytime when I was little though and we went to see my aunt in Phoenix, they had it in stores.

Here's hoping they don't discontinue the Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, I'm in love with it right now.

Yeah that kind is pretty good but I'm thinking that Berries and Cream Dr Pepper is gonna go the way of the dodo soon. It tastes funky. It's like Robotussin without the ability to make cartoons awesome.
