LET'S MAKE FUN OF THE SPIKE VIDEO GAME AWARDS!

That guy is just as annoying in real life as he is doing the radio guy in Burnout 3. The other guys comment of "see you in the next generation" means no Burnout 4 until the next generation of consoles are out. Hope that comes soon!

Is there anyone here who meets BOTH of these criteria?

1) Enjoyed GTA: San Andreas.

2) Disagreed with it winning Best Game tonight.

I know there are plenty who meet #2, but both? Just curious.

GTA won, stop whining and deal with it. It deserves every accolade it gets.

I'm happy a game that actually focuses on gameplay won.

funny, I'll bet if the GTA series were E rated and devoid of all "teh MaTURe" content it wouldnt get any attention and it'd be considered a B-list title.

The fact is all these so called open-ended games like Grand Theft Auto and Morrowind are just as linear as anything else- Just because you have this big open world to randomly and pointlessly move around in doesnt change the fact that it's simply busy work between a very linear series of story missions.

It's really not open ended gameplay. You can go anywhere, but you can't "do anything". I mean, sure, you can do "anything" as long as anything involves driving, shooting, changing, eating, and buying houses, but can you moon people as you drive by, pee off buildings and have an attack dog? No.. no, you can't.
 
Haha, God damn this show sucked HARD.

So my roommate finally came back today after being home for a week after getting his wisdom teeth out. He's like "I heard there's some video game award show on tonight, wanna watch it?" and I say "sure, why not?"

So we throw it on, right at the part where Tony Hawk says "Grand Theft Auto San Andreas met all expectations and blew them......................................away."

I burst out laughing and my roommate turned off the TV and apologized for wasting my time.

Hahahaha, hilarious.

I'm glad some people are simple enough that they consider pointlessly driving around in GTA "great gameplay". Why dont I just code a game where that's all you do, there's no point, there's no story, you just drive around a pretend city and steal vehicles over and over and over again by pressing a single button...maybe you can run people over too because it's just so amazing to be able to do that...and then according to you that's great gameplay!!!
 
GTA:SA does not deserve all of the accolades that it is getting, and neither does Halo 2. Both of these games are just more of the same; there is no innovation at all. Both are great game, but to call them the best game this year is unjust IMO.
 
MGS3 didn't win anything.....just makes me hate Spike TV more. DOWN WITH SPIKE TV. Dont watch Spike TV anymore and help put an end to these horrible video game awards

Are you sure there were even any awards presented??? I though i was watching the MTV video awards or the RAP/Heavy MEtal Grammys. This is a video game awards show right??, Then I wuold suggest they show videogames, present awards to video games, and cut out all the bull crap of all these celebrities who may or may not even play games. Give me a break!! I don't know if it was worse than last year, but I'd definitely say no better. And I agree GTA San Andrea is WAY overated.
 
This has probably been mentioned, but when Halo 2 won best FPS it showed only clips from the E3 presentation.
