I'm in the market for a new TV and my first inclination is to purchase an LED TV with as many Hz as possible. Scouring Best Buy's website, I came across this particular TV:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/TCL+-+5...=1218748044605&skuId=6505302&st=tcl&cp=1&lp=6

It's 55" LED with 240Hz for a pretty outstanding price given the specs. However, it's from an unknown manufacturer. Reviews online for the product pretty much conclude that it's a good deal for the price. However, I'm now thinking that maybe I want to switch over to a Plasma, so this TV from BB has caught my interest:

I'm not trying to start a LED VS Plasma discussion, but I'm trying to decide if LED is really the hotness that everyone says it is or if I'm just caught up in wanting what everyone else wants. Right now I have a 47" LCD Samsung (60 Hz) so I'm really just looking for something that will be a significant upgrade. All I've ever heard from people is to stay away from Plasmas but doing some research last night tells me there really isn't much of a reason to stay away.

My TV will primarily be used for movies and games. I understand that Plasma has better black levels for low-light rooms (which is what I have) but I haven't heard much about it in terms of gaming. Is there an advantage of one over the other in terms of gaming? Unfortunately I feel like the employees at Best Buy are always trying to sell me whichever TV is on sale so I can't get a good answer from them one way or another, so that's why I'm turning to CAG for advice.
If you do go with the LED then it's cheaper on amazon by $50 and $100 for 2 distinct models for the TCL set. I'm not quite sure what the difference is between them.

I havent looked for the plasma set but I'm sure it will be cheaper on amazon as well.
Yeah I was looking at Amazon for the TCL and in fact Circuit City's website (soon to be Tiger Direct) has the TV with a mail-in rebate that makes it even cheaper than Amazon. Plus the extended warranties they offer are dirt cheap by comparison to BB. The only reason I was looking at BB's website was the financing options since I have a BB credit card.
