Totally forgot that today was the last day to order Telnet Shooting Collection.  Since its a numbered title I went ahead and placed an order.  Only ordered the standard edition.  The CE is one of their typical ripoff CEs (4 art cards, keychain, and that all important outer box for $25 more).

all their LE, CE, etc all rip offs. just not worth double the money. i really want Castlevania. i was hoping for it to come out outside of their site.

Numbered is LRG site exclusive now
Do you mean that anything that is numbered will not have a non-numbered release?

Or that just the number part is exclusive and the games may still show up without the number?

Personally, I don't care about a number on a spine and kind of would prefer at this point not to have a numbered copy of a game.

*Edit - simplified Q

LRG claims that anything numbered will only be available via them from now on. Those titles won't have a corresponding unnumbered release from LRG. To show up at Amazon or BB, a game has to be from the distro line. There's only two things LRG does well:

1) Charge my CC quickly

2) Clearly label numbered releases

Well that's strange. Thanks for the info.

This actually helps me come to terms with continuing my path for a lot of things just being digital and being ok that they are digital... but will give me pause if they actually get something I want that isn't a distro title.

Super YMMV, but for those in the NC area, I saw this earlier today from their retail location (in Cary, NC). Perhaps a good opportunity for picking up some older LRG-only titles at a marginal discount.

"Inside SG-1000 Works, you'l find detailed write-ups on every game, peripheral, and accessory ever released for SG-1000 or Multivision"

So why's it called Vol 1?
Jeremy's Segaiden YT series covers other sega stuff, so SG1000 is just the first part. Then there's mark III, SMS, Genesis...

But yeah this book would be right up my alley. Unfortunately, I'm not gonna buy from their site for obvious reasons and until it gets on amazon/other outlets I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't get in anyone's hands for a good long while due to the in-hand shipping situation (3 days of an open LRG ticket, and still no reply on my valis vinyl shipping... as I near another week of it being in hand and not shipped)

That back to school sale reeks of hidden restrictions. What is the difference between aaa and standard. Does it include Collectors editions? And wtf is priority players. Thier version of a a Pur/gcu program?

They sell ordinary retail games there, so it's 15% off AAA retail games by the major publishers. The 15% only applies to standard edition LRG games, not collector's editions.

Six. Full. Days. No reply to my ticket about the in hand valis vinyl nearing week 6 of in-hand status.

This is fucking absurd. I legitimately feel like i’m in a parody world rn.

I wish a speedy delivery to those expecting stuff... and the eventual peace that comes with having zero pending orders.

Yeah it’s officially crossed a week on waiting for support now and even my bumps arent getting looked at. Obscenely unacceptable for such a thing. It’ll literally ship after my move at this rate despite them having it for six weeks now.

I’ll give them one more week before going as public as I can to get it sent out before said move so it doesn't get lost. Do not trust them with address changes after seeing stories of wrong address shipments over the past months. Didn’t josh say pending orders would all be sent out within the next four weeks, back in June?!? Clearly that was a lie…

If I had any flex to go public and were in your shoes, I'd just flex already. I know this might push you ahead of others that have been waiting just as long... but unfortunately in this day and age sometimes it takes being vocal to get things done and who knows... maybe they'll push the whole pile of Valis Vinyl to the top of the merch/etc shipping cue if it's a small enough group that can be handled quickly.

Did you add comments to your existing ticket? For some unexplicable reason that would move it back to the bottom of the pile, or so it was explained on Discord a while ago.
Yes, i added comments on friday, monday, and today. Does it seriously push it further back? That seems utterly stupid, especially since the period of Tue-fri was still past the 48 hr estimate in their autoreply. Guess i will hold off until next Tuesday then to give them a chance to answer.

EDIT: Finally got an answer. Boilerplate but I'll accept it for the next few weeks at least.

Greetings, Connor!

Hope this email finds you well!
We do apologize for the delay as we are working through a high volume of support tickets at this time.

No problem! Our shipping team is working through a very high volume of shipments at this time so it is taking a bit to work through the current queue. At this time, it is confirmed that your order is in the current shipping queue to be sent out. It shouldn't be much longer for you to receive your shipping confirmation email with your tracking number.

When the team is working on the batch containing your shipment you'll receive a confirmation email with your tracking number automatically.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Otherwise, be well and have a wonderful week!

Best Regards,

Did Josh ever reveal what that major game they signed was?
I don't believe they have yet: we probably won't see that for a while considering they're just now catching up on some older announcements for carbon releases. (Xtreme sports came out and yeah, that port was surprisingly decent, and Trip World DX is out on the eShop this Thurs)

Got my last LRG order almost a year ago and if I wanted any future LRG games, I might just buy them off ebay eventually to avoid the worsening customer service and wait times on items.

If ebay prices are inflated... then VGP or one of the other stores that sell LRG games is probably the way to go... unless there's an import option.

I'd probably still give LRG a purchase for a standard release if the franchise is in one of the few series I buy every game release for... but chances of that happening seem very low. Like Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed would get my $$ even with a year or more wait.

If you're referring to his tweet from August 12th, it's "some huge games" rather than one game, and:

This is a partnership I've been working on forming for six or seven years. It took a lot of persistence, financial risk, numerous presentations, and several meetings across many years and locations around the world.
I don't think Josh has said much about this since, but:

This one is a bit of an outlier as it's coming up pretty fast. We'll have the first release revealed within the next handful of months.

Five months from now is early next year.

I really hate the hype machine.  I wish they'd just announce things or just keep quite until they can announce things.  The speculation mostly leads to disappointment.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

How do the VHS ones work for PS4/5 games? The switch cases seem to be about the same size as a VHS tape but I'd think the disc ones would look off scale

This is what I do. Alternatively, I'll look to VGP or Amazon (or any other retailer that carries LRG), or Asia releases at Play-Asia. I'm done ordering direct from LRG.

Same. My River City Girls 2 just shipped this week after ordering it almost a year ago. I am done with these wait times. I only check this thread for the pretty pictures/drama.

Not gonna lie, as much as I know I shouldn’t, I’m really tempted on that Prehistoric Edition. They’ve got their nostalgia-driven merchandising on point with that one.

Embracer Group is shuttering Volition.

Wonder how strange LRGs parent company is if they're axing a major studio.

One reason to be shy over pre-orders, as they're now subject to corporate overlords.

As far as what Embracer does, my guess is that it will close/sell something off for the cash flow or tax write-off. But like I said, I don't think LRG would be at the top of that list. Volition would be my guess since it's got higher operating cost from headcount and was almost assuredly one of the key contributors to the "lacklustre reception for certain notable releases" line in the FT article. They have way too many subsidiaries for me to remember though, so it's possible another subsidiary is costing them more or performing worse.
I feel like the writing was really on the wall for Volition given Saints Row's reception and Embracer's situation, but I still feel bad for everyone losing a job over this. Saints Row being on PS+ next month feels like salt in the wound.

I agree completely. I feel bad for those who are now out of a job, but they haven’t had a hit since Saints Row IV, which came out 10 years ago and there didn’t seem to be anything on the horizon for them either. Red Faction Guerrilla and Saints Row 3 might be some of my favorite games of all time but the fact of the matter is they just haven’t done much of relevance lately.

I got a surprisingly swift reply this time when i pushed back noting that hey, everyone else gets the shipping queue response, what about actually shipping the vinyl put before I move in a few weeks so i dont have to deal with headaches of extending mail forwarding or having a relative pick it up at the old place:

“ Greetings, Connor!

I do apologize for any frustration! Customer Support is not able to see where exactly in the queue a specific order is to give more specific information or a precise estimate. However, since your order has been confirmed as in the current shipping queue, it is on the fastest track out to you at this time. We greatly appreciate your patience as we work through the current queue as quickly as possible.

Not to worry though! If it should happen that your order should be in transit while you are moving, our shipping labels do include forwarding service. This means that if you set up mail forwarding at your local post office, the shipment will be redirected to the new address so it can still be delivered to you with your other mail. If for some reason you do not receive your shipment despite having mail forwarding set up, please let us know and our Claims Department will be more than happy to assist you at that time.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Otherwise, be well and have a wonderful week!”

…so they’re basically not gonna ship it out by the third week of september which would make it approx TEN WEEKS of in-hand waiting.

Fun. Mr “fired for harassment” COO would probably be still shouting at me that I was doing something wrong or just have to dm him to get help or yadda yadda yadda if he was still lurking these boards, but this stupidly long in-hand delay stuff was happening to others here even when he was around the boards and i’m fairly certain nothing he did made it better or worse.

Did Xenogears ever get their items? They’ve been waiting longer than me iirc… Like, this is the shit i mean when i say 10000x i wanna move on and otherwise do not care but when my final pending item is in such a laughable state and exposes me more to the rough way they treat their shipping/support folk… It just blows my mind. I shouldn’t have to make a public stink to get my shit sent to me. It’s a big record! Send it out! It can’t be lost for that long can it? Meanwhile the shredder revenge CEs went out super fast to my friends who got that…

Yeah, so I hope you have a relative or the new owners or something are going to help you out because countless people have setup mail forwarding and then the packages get handled in a way that they bypass the mail forwarding system. I would hope after all this time your next step wouldn't be the Claims Department. I want to see you set free!
