Don't understand why these LRG vita titles sell out in less than a couple minutes when a title like Teslagrad took all day.

Scalpers must be targeting LRG vita titles in particular. But they really shouldn't, as the resale values aren't really worth it compared to the cost and time investment. Either that or there are people out there who are going for a full LRG vita set BUT NOT a full Region 1 vita set. But they really should, as the rest of the vita set is only like a hundred more games!
There seem to be a lot of buyers overseas and Teslagrad already had a standard PEGI release years ago.

I believe this depends on what your state wants. I thought it was absurd that I had been charged tax on shipping but then I did some research and my state (PA) actually requires retailers to charge sales tax on the cost of goods plus shipping. That is why I try to use free shipping whenever possible.
Hmmm. Have ordered from around a dozen merchants that charged shipping over the past week and none of them charged tax on shipping. Perhaps they are just not doing things the right way. I will look into my state's law on things. Thanks for the info.

Other factors to consider:

  • Teslagrad went up all at once, but SMAA is going up in two batches and some (a few hundred?) got pulled into a mega bundle
  • Teslagrad already had a physical release on the console
  • Teslagrad was more expensive

As far as scalpers go, it looks like about 50 copies of Pix the Cat made their way to eBay and sold for $33-$70. I imagine $40-$45 is the breakeven point with shipping, fees, and the original price, so the profits are kinda marginal for the amount of time and effort but I guess some people have nothing better to do. I still think the majority of copies are going to people who actually want the game, whether for collecting a full LRG set, full NA set, or legitimate interest in the game.

Missed it. Are they doing the usual thing where there's another batch 8 hours later?
Yes, but you are going to need to be lightning fast if you want the Vita game. The first batch is always much larger and lately the second batch on Vita stuff has gone in under a minute if that.

Definitely second batch has been going way faster than in the past. I used to not stress too much if I didn't get something in the first batch because I knew it wouldn't be hard to get it in the second. Certainly not the case any more. Good to see LRG still think it's a good idea to limit their remaining Vita titles to 2 per person when they are all selling out in 2 mins or less in every instance, not counting Teslagrad. It's safe to say every remaining Vita title they release will sell out easily even if it's a 1 per person limit.

Nope, just a vague sometime in August.
Hopefully they combine it with another Vita release that day, as paying shipping for one game goes against the CAG in me. LOL

But I guess it's probably for the best, since these last few games are selling out in minutes(or under). I guess trying to get two games in the cart to save on shipping may be tempting fate, and probably best left alone I guess.

I'd prefer they do one at a time due to the whole time issue you mention. It's crazy how just a few seconds can make or break getting the order in before stuff sells out, and that is assuming a person is checking out pretty quick and knows what they are doing.

I'm just hoping they put both Damascus Gear games at the same time. I think those are the last Vita physical copies I want. Pretty much done with 3DS purchases too with getting Wario Ware Gold recently on sale. Just ready to be done buying for both systems.

I never got my Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon physical from LRG. It says unfulfilled. They shipped for a lot of people already.

Is this normal? I did an order that also included The Messenger, so I'm wondering if they are waiting til they get The Messenger to ship both in one shipment?

Ughhhh less than a minute on both mornings & afternoon sales? Damm.
I have a gut feeling I'm going to miss out on those Damacus games. :(

if you bought both games under the same order, then yes you will need to wait until the Messenger releases. I the Messengers gets released sometime end of this month July

That's normal. They don't ship until everything in the order is ready.

This Friday only, an actual small deal from LRG:

Friday only, buy Rogue Legacy and Double Switch for Switch in the "Double Switch Day Bundle" and save $5 off the bundle ($55 total instead of $60).  This may be the first time I've seen an actual deal offered by LRG.

With Best Buy selling some LRG titles, anybody think they'll sell Transistor as well? I wanted to bite, but with a grand total of $50 I'm not so sure.

LRG stated that they will always say whether or not any outside retailer will be stocking their games on the product information page. This announcement was made after best buy started picking up their games to sell in store. The first game best buy picked up was not announced and LRG allowed cancellations on orders if people wanted to try and get it through best buy. Ever since, they have listed them on the product page. Transistor was the first that they forgot to put this on when the game went on sale, but I did not see any backlash because Josh had announced the game being picked up by best buy on twitter.

I do wish that they would show the best buy cover, because some of the LRG covers have been substantially better. But since I still have GCU, it is hard to justify the extra money for a card and a cover.

Any thoughts on rogue legacy?

I never played it and not really a fan of roguelike games as I hate starting over on one death but it does look amusing and it had a lot of good steam reviews.

It's one of my favorite games. It allows you to upgrade your character after every death, has an ending along with another harder version after, and introduces traits and other personal quirks that keep the gameplay fresh. It is a quintessential "just one more time" game.

Speaking of games that Best Buy will carry, looks like BB plans to carry Rogue Legacy but not Double Switch.
That's probably a good idea from a quality and or demand point of view. RL is probably one of the most well received titles of the last 10 years, while DS is probably one of the most forgotten and or unwanted titles of the last 30.

Double Switch is an FMV game. FMV is a very niche genre, but people who like it will buy just about anything of decent quality. Comparable to the SHMUP fanbase but smaller.

I would also say that for someone who may not like rogue likes there is always can be a feeling of accomplishment for a good while as you are constantly upgrading your manner after each run to help each new character overall stats, weapons, armor, charms and this helps to further progress in the game. The first two areas of the game are great for farming resources for upgrades to help you tackle the other two areas that are much more difficult. I think this is one of the best rogue likes for someone who may not like the genre. Game play is fun and simple but difficult to master in late harder areas. Plus lot of fun and challenging secrets.

I loved the game on Vita and I will be picking up the Switch version.
I really wish they would have made a physical vita version.

Yeah, I'm aware of Double Switch, as I'm one of the few FMV fans in these forums, as I think the genre deserves it place in gaming history the same as any other "game". That being said, that's why I said what I did, as RL is an easy sell just about any place, where DS once sold to the niche audience, it will sit on shelves. I'm sure gauging demand was just going to be to hard, or maybe the minimum order was to large, either way, better to not take the gamble IMO.

I emailed LRG and they said that BB is supposed to sell Transistor with different box art but that they might end up not ordering shipments anyway. yadayadayada. Just buy it from us. I bought a copy. It came up to $43 so that was pricey.

I think I'll give it a shot then. For the most part now I only buy good lrg games I know I want to play but from the large amount of positive comments I have seen and your testimonial I'll spend the money.

I like supporting lrg but it's just too expensive for what you get most of the time so I try to be much more discerning.

I didn't really enjoy Rogue Legacy, but then I don't enjoy most rogue-like games as is.   If anything, I'd judge it on how much you love the genre and where your limits are.   Maybe go watch a review or two on youtube if going into it blind.   Thankfully it was free on PS+.  If you got it free, go try it out.

I played the crap out of Rogue Legacy on the PS4. It's a Metroidvania crossed with Rogue. Highly recommended. The Vita version is a little under-powered, so I'll be grabbing a copy for the Switch. (which has a little more muscle) Rogue Legacy on the go is a perfect combo.

Of note:

  • LRG made impressive progress on shipping things out the past few weeks (or at least on marking them as shipped on their page), but they've released enough games in the same window to make negative progress on their backlog.
  • Power Rangers was originally slated for November and is now "TBD". I have a feeling this one is going to be another headache since they're waiting on the season pass development.
  • Project Lux is one of their oldest pending releases and still has no date. My thought is that Sekai wasn't done before it was sold (it was sold in March and only released on PSN a little over a month ago)
  • LRG has 78 separate sold SKUs pending shipment. Considering a lot of these are open pre-orders we don't know the exact quantities, but if we estimate low at 2,000 then they need to ship about 156k units of already-sold product.

I really hope you enjoy Rogue Legacy.

I am waiting to pick up my copy to see if I can combine it with anything in the future to save on shipping.

I've got until August 16th. I still can't believe they have not announced any of their August releases yet.

Not surprising. When they listed this and it was a game not done yet it seemed like another potential Skull Girls situation.

I've been holding off on several recent releases. But today I had to dive back in. Really wanted a standard copy of Rogue Legacy for the Switch. Went ahead and snagged a standard copy of Transistor for the Switch. And I went ahead and got a copy of Red Matter as well. The reviews for that one are pretty good, and I did recently get a PS4 Pro to bolster my VR games.
