I don't think its been mentioned in this thread yet, but the next game in the LRG PSVR line - Prison Boss VR - is going on sale later this morning at 10am EDT.
Is there a standard only option? I could only find the bundle with the CD on LRG this morning.

Update: The standard version shows up now.

Gee, I wonder why so many discs end up loose? :D

Oh come on they are doing Jak 3 AND Lumines on the first ever Friday that I may not have time to get orders in. This is cruel

Anyone order Retro City Rampage DX for the Vita today from Vblank. Looks like they reprinted it.

Order submitted by 10:01 and they’ve already created the shipping label for this. I saw it’s supposed to ship next week but that was a quick response and I almost wasn’t ready for it after how slow other things can process including amazon free shipping, LRG, and bestbuy ship to store nowadays...

I remember in LRG's prime they would get things shipped in about a week, seems like forever ago. Now it seems like it takes 2-3 months for most games.

Is that more bc LRG used to sell games after they were produced? Now it's seems like more of their games are on a pre-order model where they take the orders now but the actual games are waiting to be produced for one reason or another.

Not sure if mentioned but Lumines on Switch is currently listed as going to Best Buy as well.  So add that to the BB list.

Also the listings state both the Switch and PS4 Standard versions have some portion already manufactured and will ship out immediately.  Given how they handled Golf Story, I'd imagine that'll still be a month or so after preorders close and the switch version will show up at best buy a few days later.

hmmm... looks like i'll just get the vinyl LP instead with Jak 3. thanks for the heads up

It's a combination of that and lower volume of sales in general. Even when they sell stuff that's on-hand right now (i.e. all of the remaining Vita games), they try to ship stuff that was sold earlier first. Since they've had a pretty major backlog for the last year or so they kinda keep shooting themselves in the foot on that front though. Harder to ship 20,000 units a month with a backlog than it was to ship 5,000 that were on-hand.

Their shipping team has gotten pretty caught up though, especially with holds and combines ending. They have basically shipped everything that is on hand through the December 7th sale at this point. Most of the delays going forward will likely be because of preorder lead times and CEs.

Compare that to VBlank's turnaround time, and I think LRG is anything but "caught up."

Apples and Oranges. VBlank sells 1-2 games a year and this is just a reprint of a game they have already sold with a different cover. They didn't even bother to update the cart with the latest updates and patches. Heck, they rushed to beat the deadline with Shakedown Hawaii and the vita version is going to require a patch which sorta defeats the whole purpose of a physical release. Also, VBlank uses Indiebox for fulfillment and they don't exactly have much going on right now.

LRG is a high volume publisher and offers preorders of Switch titles and some PS4 titles, so you're gonna have a built in 2-3 month lead time anyway after the preorder window closes assuming everything goes well.

I think you might have not read my other post in your hurry to defend LRG. I noted the same two reasons as reasons why their shipping speed has gotten slower.

I think you might have missed your own point. You're literally comparing the shipping speed of a company that will do two total physical releases this year, one of which is just a reprint of something from a few years ago and one that isn't even properly finished and is using an outside vendor to do their fulfillment versus a company that now has a business model of doing preorders and whose shipping team is largely caught up but for the fact that various releases haven't rolled in the door to actually ship out. I will agree that there was a time within the last few months when there was an actual shipping team backlog for LRG as opposed to waiting for delivery of product to ship out, but that has been largely cleared at this point and the bottleneck is now primarily waiting for product to roll in. Also, nobody has received the reprint of RCR from VBlank yet, so it's a little early to be celebrating their efficiency. I can tell you that I received damaged items when they did the PSP release and it was a really difficult and terrible experience to try and get replacements.

I'm not complaining about anything. I said I remembered when LRG had faster turnarounds and then responded with some reasons why that's changed. I'm honestly just kinda tired of seeing you try to start arguments with people on these threads, think it's time I join the bojay block club,

Anyway, back on topic, excited for Lumines tomorrow. I'm a big fan of Tetris and Tetris-like puzzle games. Since it's an open pre-order I think I'll hold off for a bit to see if there's something I can bundle it with next week to save shipping. Best of luck to those getting the CEs tomorrow, seem like they'll be going fast based on popularity and quantity.

You guys just don't know how BAD I want the Lumines Ultimate edition!!!!  I remember seeing Lumines available for PSP through gaming magazines, and then seeing/reading the box art while in stores.  Later it was released on Xbox 360 and I finally got me a copy (and became rather addicted).  I thought the Remastered version on PS4 would keep my attention for a few plays, but it became my most played PS4 game and still is. Playstation Now was/is worth it for me due to Lumines being on there!  Cross your fingers for me guys, that I'll get a copy!

I didn't say you were complaining, but you were clearly trying to draw some kind of comparison without taking into account the way in which shipping actually works. As I said, there has been a significant change in the last month or so where the LRG shipping crew is no longer jammed up with hold and combine orders and they are "caught up". Now the only real barrier to fulfillment is getting the product from Sony and Nintendo and other third party vendors for CEs. If LRG received every outstanding product at once, they might have a shipping bottleneck problem again, but that doesn't seem likely. Similarly, many of the other companies like Play Asia, Strictly Limited and a number of others are starting to face the same delays from Sony and Nintendo despite having far less ambitious release schedules. I mean, if you're really looking for stark differences, Hard Copy games shipped within day or two of the sale, but again, they don't do their own shipping and it took them a year to get their first title back from Sony.

Damn I really want that Lumines CE, but I don't collect vinyl or own a record player so I am on the fence on getting the CE or just opting for spending less and getting the standard. Lumines is one of my favorite puzzle games of all time though!

I never realized how many rabid Lumines fans there are... I thought for sure the price of the CE would cause it to bomb. Guess I'll soon be proven wrong.

I tried on that Lumines, but it got yanked out of my cart on the last page. Oh well.

It doesn't look like there will be a second batch later on those.

I feel like I'm the only one who isn't interested in getting the jax games. I look at them and I see ps2 games that I'll never play, packed with a bunch of standard bonuses, and the only nice thing about the entire package is the case it comes in, but I can't justify spending - $85 for every single one on that alone.

Had it been a single package with the Remastered ps3 versions and the nice case and bonuses, sure. But this just feels like overkill. And yet people are going crazy for them, even those they have a relatively high print run. So maybe I'm the wrong one here, but I just don't get it

When it comes to opinions you arent wrong, or right. And there is nothing to get. People want and like something you dont, no great mystery to it.

I got the first regular release and after I did I had no idea why I did. Then I got 2 since i got 1, and now i got 3 because i had the other two. I wished i hadnt wasted the money in retrospect. They are going to sit there unplayed. At least I am getting a lot better about impulse buys on games though.

You're not the only one. I don't get it either.

Have any of you guys tried Giga Wrecker? I got it for cheap on Steam, so I thought that I'd try it before I jumped on the physical edition. I thought for sure that it would be a slam dunk, but I actually don't like it. It's much more of a puzzle platformer than an action platformer; the controls are really stiff and do not feel good; and the physics for the puzzles are super wonky, making many of the puzzles needlessly annoying or luck based.

I've heard similar impressions and that has put me off on buying an expensive physical copy.

I've gotten a lot better about not buying LRG games just because they are limited and I may one day play them. I am considering the standard of Lumines Remastered on PS4 since I have it digital on Switch, but still not sure how much I want to double dip for the price.

I'm on the same page as well. I like the games, but I'm more than happy having the PS3 collection. I don't want to fight the hordes and pay more for the games again when the standard editions are the same (worse if you care about the PS2 emulation vs. PS3 stuff), and the CEs are a little too rich for my blood. Glad the folks that wanted a PS4 disc were given the opportunity, but I'm not part of that target audience I suppose.

The prices of the Jak CE's are insane but they actually jumped in prices from Jak 1 being $75($80.49 shipping) to Jak 2 and 3 being $85($90.49). Yet they raised shipping to fucking $12 today. We don't even know the "quality" of these CE's yet.

Can you please shut the hell up already? Thanks.

You can always wait on it. Since most switch titles from LRG seem to be getting the BB treatment. Any game that LRG says BB is getting I dont bother to get it from LRG. You give them the money just to wait for them to ship it when you can just wait till BB gets the release. No need to worry about the games selling out either as there are plenty of copies of every switch title they have ever gotten from LRG. You can spend your money at anytime instead of having to do it within a window of time. Even the alt art coves are available for purchase for a dollar each on their site after the game drops. This is just my thought though, of course you do what you feel is better for you.

Yeah, that is a good point and also reminds me that I have yet to buy any from Best Buy due to GCU being dead and just not feeling the need when I see over a dozen copies at the store when I go in. Lumines is one I want for PS4 though since I have it digital on Switch already.

Yeah I agree. I havent picked up BCF or windjammers because I see so many on their shelves so I feel I can just wait.

i hope another Jak and Daxter will come about from these fast sales. But i kinda hope it's more like the first 1st game, a platformer. The sequels with guns weren't that good to me, I'd rather play a new ratchet & clank if that's the case.

I wholeheartedly agree with this.
