On the title: I couldn't think of a better way to describe what I'm feeling. I'm starting to feel exhausted by the ways in which games lack freedom.
I'm a few hours into Bioshock Infinite, it's a great experience, I can tell there's a high objective quality, but I'm just not enjoying myself. I feel so claustrophobic, cornered, and exhausted by the complete lack of choice, freedom, and shotgun pace.
I've been playing Minecraft for quite some time, and Simcity recently. I was into Xcom. I even loved Omerta: City of Gangsters. Many games have come and gone, and I just feel so much more into freeform (and sometimes relaxing), self-paced experiences.
Anyone else experiencing this? What're you doing lately to break up the monotony?
