Aside from all the bullshit high school stereotyping "omg if u liek linkin pakr press 48!!!!!!!!!!!", I actually like most of their stuff. They are definately NOT the "best", but I they're one of the few groups I can sit down and listen to two of their entire CD's (Hybrid Theory and Meteora) without skipping a single track. I also like "My December", and most of their stuff from the EP and way back when they were Xero.
 
Well I've noticed that most people here dont enjoy that type of music, its best to not say "they are the best" which IMO its true (FLAME SHIELD ON). If you enjoy their music and want to talk about it with other fans its better to go to LP fansites or join the LPunderground through LPunderground.com

Everyone enjoys different types of music for a reason or another, bashing IMO is not right....They are Millionaires and they are known all over the world, so to say that they suck or that they are gay, thats just imature. They are a really good band and they are really nice people (yes i've met them a couple times) .

They have dontated a lot of money to charity, not to mention that they recently opened MusicforRelief.org and dontaed a lot of money for the people who were affected by the tsunami in Asia.

Next time just say I dont like them and that will be fine.
 
I dont like Linkin Park much either, as for what I do like, its too long to list.

Most people really don't know anything the band members most of the time, but yes, Linkin Park does donate a bunch of money to various charities and I'm sure they're just fascinating individuals. That doesn't mean they have any talent whatsoever, except maybe the DJ, who tools around in the studio to not make the rest of the band sound like raspy-voiced idiots screaming about being beaten by their girlfriends or commiting suicide. If you go to a live show or buy their live CD, you'll realize these clowns have no real talent. Mr. Hahn (the DJ) might have a good ear for music from technical standpoint (i.e., the Linkin Park/Jay-Z collaboration idea was his), they have no business considering themselves, or being considered, real musicians. People have the right to think their the best, but I really don't. That time in my life has come and gone, and I'm glad middle school is over. Just my take on everything.
 
The problem is with your poll. I'm rather indifferent to Linkin Park, but I don't think they're "OK". When Hybrid Theory came out, I enjoyed some of the tracks, because I'd never heard anything like that before. Then Meteora came out, and I realized how annoying their music had become.
 
Popular things get two followings. Those that like them just because they're popular and those that hate them just because they're popular. Both groups are retards.

I think they're ok. I'd rather have some Rammstein or Adema, but Linkin Park is ok.
 
They were the ONLY thing that was entertaining at the Linkin Park/Limp Asskit/Metallica concert last year in L.A.. Metallica bored the hell outta me with all their new crap music from their new CD. And Limp Idiot was a complete waste of stage space.

Linkin Park puts on a good show... but I'll admit that their newest CD with Jay-Z is pretty lame.

Ahh well... everyone can like whatever. Whatever.... whatever....
 
You have to understand, music is like videogaming... there's a reason why shitty first person shooters sell like hotcakes.

Linkin Park makes lowbrow, accessible music.

Thats a good point. I've been following them since they became popular and widely known. Thats how I got a chance to meet them and talk to them, because they werent being hounded by hot girls yet...
 
wow a lot of people really hate linkin park. all their songs sound alike because their singer cant do anything with his voice, but scream the hell out of it.

I thought their first album was pretty decent, but that was back in 1999. Looking back now and seeing they've written about eight songs and spread them over 6+ years and four or five albums is ridiculous. For something that was "fresh" at birth, they drove themselves into the ground in a hurry.

All the hate isn't surprising, Linkin Park is one of those bands that it's popular to hate on. Most of the criticisms I've heard are invalid though.

My thought is, if I can listen to a band's whole CD, and every single song is awesome, then I like them. Both Hybrid Theory and Meteora were spectacular releases. I don't skip any song on either disk.

I love their music but am very dissappointed with the incredibly small amount of songs they've made. All we've heard in the states are two major albums and a bunch of remixes. And those two albums weren't even full length - most clocked out at around 40 minutes. Meteora was WAY too short considering how many years they had to work on it.
 
Linkin Park was a fabricated band. They were picked for looks only, which is why they have so much airtime on mtv (a few weeks before album comes out - few weeks after album releases - then again a few months later when record sales start to drop). Their entire purpose is to make money, just like every other dumbass on tv. Music used to be about the love, now it is just another facet of society that shows what greed really looks like.
 
They are ok, Not the best (rage against the machine), not the worst (Limp bizkit). Mr. Hahn is a pretty good DJ as someone stated, and Shinoda is not great rapper he is better than Chingy and J-Kwon, he's a better remixer (Depeche Mode's Enjoy the silence)

See, this is one of those things that isn't true. Linkin Park is NOT a fabricated band. In fact, they've been around since the mid 90s, and they were not "put together". They write all their own music, and play all of their own instruments, and they always have. They are as much of a "real band" as Nirvana or Metallica.

Whether or not you like their music is a matter of taste, but to write them off as the product of a corporate board meeting is just wrong.

Everything in life is subjective and everyone has a right to view their opinion, but when you start making fun of someone just because of a music choice.. thats childish.
