Linksys Wireless Router to Wireless Bridge

CAGiversary!
I'm trying to solve some network logistical problems in my place and I was told by a few people that you can "upgrade" a Linksys WRT54G via firmware updates and make it into a wireless bridge. Have any of you CAGs had any personal experience with this? I've read a few guides for this, but I wanted to see if anyone had some input. Also I guess there are some different versions of this router that work better? If anyone knows anything I'd appreciate the advice.

The "G" seems to be the de facto standard for for wireless routers, so as long as you have the right version it should work. I believe Alchemy firmware will allow you to set your router as a bridge, just be sure you have version 4 or earlier. You can check the version number usually on the bottom of your router which will have something like "WRT54G V.X" somewhere.
