Local Kid Triumphs Over Unlocked iPhone

MyFoxNY.com -- George Hotz, a 17-year-old geek from New Jersey, has figured out how to unlock the iPhone so he can use it on T-Mobile's network instead of AT&T's. He says he knew his hack -- which involves soldering and software -- would work. Now he's trying to sell an unlocked iPhone on eBay for thousands.

Because hes not in it for making money (or at least thats what he says). Hes selling the first iphone ever hacked for use on another network. Hes not selling it as a redistrubited product but as history

This is pretty useless now though since there is a software hack which does the same thing, but is much easier to do. I bet Apple doesn't care about this, but AT&T does.
