So what did you think of MGS2 Sean? Also did you see your "buddy" staring at you from a distance when Snake is talking to Raiden? :D
Great game. Raiden was a bit whiney, but I dealt with it ;)

And I didn't notice vamp at first. However, I went to GameFaqs after beating the game and read through a thread with a ton of MGS info, and that was posted there. Pretty cool easter egg actually.

Turn off the game console now!

That Kojima is always trying to screw with us. I wonder how many people actually did.
How long does Odin Sphere take to finish?
check the forum covering game time... too lazy to link...

I think they have the answer there.
Gonna get ready to re-start FF9. Through an odd series of coincidences, I have never been able to complete it.
It's the only final fantasy I have beaten more than once.
It's the only final fantasy I have beaten more than once.
I've beaten FF8 more times than I can count, and I'm multi-tasking with FFX and Tactics. But beating FF9 is something I need to do.

I played through about half of the first Zelda last night on VC. Never finished the game, gonna give it a shot. Maybe I'll have myself a zelda marathon, work on Zelda 2 on VC after that.

Pretty happy with selling my 360. Been sticking with the Wii and PS2. I feel a bit better about my collection. I'm going to be going nuts when halo 3 comes out though.

I'm on episode 3/42 on super robot taisen OG 2, wow this is a VERY long gba game!

and I'm mission 6 on fire emblem: ss. the only thing that's restricting me from playing more is my 8-5 day job.

I still need to get Link to the Past and OoT on the VC and actually beat them.

Zelda 2 scares me.

Anyone know how import friendly Princess Crown (The Spritual prequel for Odin Sphere) the PSP is? I could care less about the story, but is knowing Japanese necessary just to play the game?

I need to go play Twilight Princess sometime... I got it at launch and all I've done is Forest Temple.

Puzzle Quest is sucking my time, goddamn that game is addictive. But I'm mixing in some Pokemon Diamond, The BIGS, Xenosaga III and Etrian Odyssey.

Zelda 2 isn't so bad. I played through to the second to last temple on the Zelda Collectors Edition disc a few years back. It's a great game, if you take it for what it is, and not judge it based on how much of a "Zelda game" it is.

Chacrana, with the tourrette's.

I threw a shit fit today when gamestop refused to exchange a DVD they sold me that was Region 2 encoded. No magazine rack, but I did throw the dvd behind their counter and got pissed when walking out. I'm never shopping at one of those shitty places again.

Looks like I'm holding off even longer on Persona 3 since it was delayed. I'd much rather get LAIR and Stranglehold next month over it.

I feel the same way now. I had my first truly bad B+M EB experience this week (er, the first since I tried buying a used PS2 there years ago-- had to exchange it many times. they all had DRE.)

I went in to exchange Lost Planet and the guy shook his head at me, was sighing loudly the whole time and was completely unpleasant. he questioned me about the other games on the receipt (all of which I still own) and told me I was "recycling the money spent." I exchanged it for a game of equal price and it was a day after I bought LP :dunce:

not only that, but I had just spent over $300 on a new Wii with a warranty + games a few days prior at that store. I'm in there all the time buying and trading stuff and this guy knows it. I told him that they always tell me that if I don't like a game, I can exchange it...once again, he said I was recycling money and making me look like a criminal or something. I have a high tolerance for dicks, but this was some really messed up customer service.

so I'm going to wait until I see him working, go in and cancel my 3 pre-orders and only shop online and in better stores in town :)
I'm only 10 minutes into it, but MGS3 seems radically different from MGS2
just you wait. MGS2 and 3 are like night and day.
Ah, God fucking dammit. fuck. fuck fuck fuck.

SHIT fuck CUNT RECTUM fuckING ASS TWAT JEW LICKING PIECE OF SHIT
OMG THATS WACIST.
I'm only 10 minutes into it, but MGS3 seems radically different from MGS2
gameplay is surprisingly a lot different, you are out in the open at all times and don't have walls and lockers to hide in.

MGS2 Is mostly indoors with lots of cover

MGS3 is mostly outdoors in the jungle with no cover, you have to take advantage of your camo.

I still am hoping for MGS2 plot complexity in MGS4, but with the goodness of MGS3 and less MGS2 wackyness with a bit of MGS1 nostalgia.... WTF am I talking about?????????

I've always played MGS with the mentality of killing as few as possible, but in MGS3 there are parts where you really have no option but to tranq a guy in the head.

Yea, guards seemed to have gotten a huge boost in AI from MGS2.

I dunno. they're all too complex for me story wise. and by complex, I mean sorda retarded like a guy who knows the names of government agencies huffed gas and started writing

Well, I dunno if I'd say that. I mean, yeah, Kojima comes up with some crazy-ass stuff, but it's all done in a way that makes a weird sort of sense. Then again, I fuckin' love MGS 2's storyline, so maybe I'm one of the crazies.

I absolutely love MGS2's plot; however, most of that is because I really like Raiden (I greatly prefer whinny, small characters over big hard asses in video games, which is why I love Leo Stenbuck in Zone of the Enders so much).

All right, I finally got around to opening Ninja Gaiden Sigma on Saturday. I played Chapter 2 for a while today. I'll be honest that I died a few times on Chapter 1, so I'm currently playing on the easiest difficulty. I played stage 2 for a while, and I'm starting to get a little better with the combat. When I rented it on Xbox, I could not get past the part with the two enemies on horses, but this time I did on my first try. I struggled with that fire guy on a horse (lol, took me 12 tries to beat him). It had nothing to do with the guy being tpp hard, I was stupid and spent too much time killing enemies around him (getting my butt kicked by them). I later just attacked the boss (not worrying about enemies around me) and killed him really fast. The burning building was really cool IMO.

I can't install the game, because I have next to no HDD space left.:( I really wished I got into Ninja Gaiden sooner, on Xbox.

That happens to be my very favorite Zelda. Over the years, I badly wanted Nintendo to make another Zelda similar to 2. One reason I've been disappointed with every Zelda because I've been wanting a true sequel to Zelda 2 (one with side scrolling gameplay, level ups, etc.). It was the first Zelda I really played and got into though. The other Zelda games just aren't for me.

Yeah, in MGS 3

Minor spoiler
Killing a whole bunch of people isn't the best idea you'll find out

I had a lot of problems with the pressure sensitive throat slits.

Leo is nothing but a ripoff of Shinji from NGE.
Yeah, in MGS 3

It doesn't really matter, in fact, it actually adds to the experience! :)

Decided to try playing Warhammer 40000: Dawn of War - Dark Crusade and yeah, it's still awesome. I typically don't like RTS games, but this is really fast paced and very, very fun.
Started half life 2 on the PC. Shit still looks amazing.
 Almost 3 years late to the party, but it's a great party nonetheless.

Make sure to get Episode 1 and 2 when it comes out.

I've played it before, just felt like starting it back. Thats why I am amazed that an old game still looks better than all the console games I've been playing. And Ya I still need to get my hands on episode 1. Then 2 later this year.

I'm a huge half life fan and I still don't own episode 1 yet :(. but, I do plan on buying episode 2 on launch day as well as the orange box coming out for the xbox 360.
Did you miss the whole point of the game? Those little additions were just kinda thrown on for a break, the real meat of the game is in the story. It's not so much a game as it is a novel with a few interactive elements. Expecting thrilling gameplay was going into it with the totally wrong mindset.
Bullshit, I've played adventure games before. They are known for story and puzzles. And the puzzles in good adventure games are more than "move all boxes to the right of the screen." Exploration was tedious at times, and the story was good, but not great.
Whooooa there Chac, save those pipes for Gears night.

A cookie to whoever can tell me the original line ;)
I don't know the name, but I know it's save those pipes for Karaoke night.

On topic, I guess I will have to squeeze in Rockman ZX before P3 next week. If it doesn't come out next week, I'm going to flip because I could've fit in VP2: Silmeria instead.

As I said, they marketed it (and rightly so) as more of a slightly interactive book. Sorry you missed the memos on that. I could see how that would really set you up for a let down with the game. I hate going into a game thinking it's going to be one way and it turns out another. Like Super Paper Mario, "platformer with RPG elements"? Ha! It was a Paper Mario game with a different battle system. Still a great game though, just not what I was expecting.

I've become hopelessly readdicted to Geometry Wars, and am almost as good as I was when I was playing it often before. I still have the goal to break 1million, and therefore beat Sean, who's top dog on my friends' list. ;)

Hotel Dusk was a bit of a letdown for me. I did know what to expect, however. It was just a letdown because I couldn't get into it. It's more of my fault then the games.

Also, I sent you a friend request Daroga.

47 billion.

Nah my score actually isn't that high.

Sean probably beats mine.

^^ Foley leads a lot of the games on my friend list, particularly the xbla ones.

Speaking of Xbox, I advanced a little more in DiRT last night and played a bit of Forza2 as well.

For some reason, I play much better in the hood/fps view than in 3rd person/behind the car view in DiRT...
