^^ Foley leads a lot of the games on my friend list, particularly the xbla ones.

Speaking of Xbox, I advanced a little more in DiRT last night and played a bit of Forza2 as well.

For some reason, I play much better in the hood/fps view than in 3rd person/behind the car view in DiRT...
same with me for dirt, when from the in car view I stay on the road more for some reason, doesn't work that way for me in Forza though. In Forza I need to be able to see my car and see if it is sliding and such.

Haha, did you give up on trying to beat me in Guitar Hero Daroga? ;)

I remember the night I scored big in GeoWars. I was just totally sucked into the zone. One guy stopped by (who I'm not very fond of) and I promptly told him to leave. I couldn't deal with his air guitar playing, it would mess with the zen-like state I was in.
Leo is nothing but a ripoff of Shinji from NGE.
I know he's a lot like Shinji, but I really love Shinji a lot too. That's why my PS3 sometimes has a Shinji wallpaper up. He's awesome. :)

Uh, a little bit of gaming today. Mostly just played Enchanted Arms (PS3) and Super Stardust HD. Need to play PSP before bed.

I might be getting too normal, wanting girls over games (I have been the other way around forever).

So what's the deal with progressive scan on the Wii? Does RE4 automatically display in it if I have it set to progressive in the Wii menu?

For progressive scan, j00 set it up on the Wii's menu and then on your TV, you gotta set it to stretch out the picture for widescreen games like RE4. The Wii doesn't send the TV an anamorphic widescreen signal, so everything will just take up the standard 4:3 screen size and widscreen games will be squashed unless you have the TV set to display it stretched out.

RE4 on Wii is so good. Really enjoying the Wii for once after selling the 360. I could see it being a viable enough lone platform for someone who doesn't play much. Virtual Console alone could keep you busy for months.

Just started FF9 a few hours ago. I forgot how unforgiving those jumprope bitches are in the beginning with Vivi. Who's the king now, you skanks?

got it. wish there was some kind of smoothing option for HDTVs. the game is a lot jaggier and sparklier than I remember.

jeez, just put like 2 hours into SPM. kinda wish it had 2D Mario gameplay with the PM style of graphics, but this'll do. it's a lot of fun so far.
The game was going to be different from your standard point-and-click adventure game. As I said, they marketed it (and rightly so) as more of a slightly interactive book. Sorry you missed the memos on that.
But there was so much pointing and clicking! Interactive novels aren't a problem, you're talking to an Ever 17 fan, here.

Lol wanting games over girls? Ha ha must be a virgin for sure. ;) Ha ha no offense of course since you seem like a cool guy but get laid and do it soon.

Hm... now I feel like playing it. :p
Hm... now I feel like playing it. :p
I did more grinding in FF9 now than I ever did before, and it's working out awesome. My Steiner was always missing abilities when the team eventually splits at Lindblum, so it's nice knowing that he'll FINALLY be main tank when Waltz #3 comes back.

I may be alone here, but I can't wait until Quina arrives. One of my favorite characters to use, if only for the blue magic.

Dude for real get out side, get a girl, make out with her. Way better then getting a critical hit.

What if that critical hit takes out a boss right when you're about to die? That's pretty sweet you know :p
About 6 hours into snake eater now..
That's my favorite of the MG games...you enjoying it so far?

Yea, I can't help but feel like I suck at it though. I'm killing pretty much everyone, and I'm not making very good use of my motion detector. I need to get used to that.

I thought the whole stamina/cure/hunting thing would be annoying, but it's not bad at all. Especially since you just gain your health back if your stamina is up.

No shame in going through the Rambo way ;)

The last few hours of the game are probably my favorite of any game I've ever played.
True...and now Im stuck in some cave
Some bees force you down there?

Make sure you grab the torch

Just keep going in the tunnels...you'll find your way out eventually.

I think theres a gun down there too...can't remember though.
just fought the pain; I deam him cooler then any boss from MGS2
Yeah, he's pretty awesome.

I like how all the bosses explode

And you got the shotgun, right?

Yes sir I did. I didnt fully go down the pathway the shotgun was located on, so now I'm going to checkout what else is down there.

I thought about making a thread, but it seemed like it wouldn't matter to so many people.

NeoGAF has the nintendo Quarter 1 Earnings report, and it's absolutely insane. They increased profits fivefold over last year. Too many stats to share here, but what I found most interesting was the software attach rate.

GC: 9.57:1
Wii: 4.83:1
GBA: 4.62:1
DS: 4.62:1

and also worldwide software sales lifetime to date:

GBA: 369.94
DS: 218.24
GC: 207.00
Wii: 44.82

Who says software doesn't sell on Wii? The attach rate is even with DS and GBA. Amazing. Especially since the GBA has basically run it's course. The GameCube numbers are high because that's lifetime data. The Wii has nearly a quarter of the total life software sales GameCube had in 6 years in just 7 months.

I remember all the doom and gloom about 5 years ago saying Nintendo must go 3rd party, etc. Funny how things change. Hope this didn't come across as fanboyish, because I just love sales numbers. The 360 destroys anything in attach rate, I think it's around 15 or so. Probably higher now.

Attach rate of 5 for the 360? Good grief.

So, 32" TV, Laptop hooked up to it, wireless 360 controller adapter, & the Ocarina of Time High Res texture pack might mean that I'll actually beat this game for once.

How high of a res would you say it is?

Better than the 480p version on the Wii?

working my way through syphon filter dark mirror and enjoying it more than I thought I would. hopefully I'll be able to finish by the end of the weekend.
The game can be stretched to 2600x1650, lol. Fans have replaced the textures in the game though with higher res textures. My personal favorite is the one where there is Wind waker-esque graphics.

Playing with the 360 controller is probably sweet to.

Aww damn.

Does the whole game look like WW? Like, does Link?

I'll have to play through this game again if so.

That texture pack is AWESOME.

I played through MGS2:Substance and MGS3:Subsistence last summer in a few weeks. It was amazing. I highly recommend it.

My sister and I tried to play thorough the arcade version of bubble bobble tonight, got to a level in the 90's and I'm convinced it became impossible. Love those taito collections. Gonna go play the $10 copy of Secret of Evermore I found yesterday now.

15?! what the hell. I have yet to hold on to a 360 game I've bought. granted I'm picky as hell, but still....that's huge. does that take XBL games into account? if so, well, then I'm right around that number
just fought the pain; I deam him cooler then any boss from MGS2
The end is the best boss in MGS3 easy. Well besides the boss she is the best umm boss lol. The end though wow that was one of the best boss battles I ever had in any game. A straight up Sniper battle fucking brilliant. You should really play MGS3 like Splinter Cell since it is a better game for stealth and such. fuck the Rambo way only n00bs do it like that. ;)

spoilers OMG!!!!
There wasn't any spoilers in that post...

The best boss fight would have to be The End.
Agreed, if you play it like a sniper fight it is truly the best boss battle in the game.

Or,
the fact that he can die from old age if you take too long.

Damn, MGS games have so many details that make them an unforgettable experience.
