Logitech Harmony 550 Universal Remote $50 Shipped @ Amazon.com

I'm biting. I had 20 bucks in GC sitting in Amazon.com, so I'll take it.

Thanks for the heads up, chakan! I owe you a root beer.

And if you hate root beer, then I owe you a punch in the face. And then a root beer.

At the same time? My matter cohesion laser is currently being serviced! I can't mend atoms - with the power of a god - at will until it is fixed. I overloaded it the last time I made an attack on the planet Karkripton.

QUIT MAKING THIS SO DIFFICULT.

The Logitech 550 will make your world destructing device management so much easier. I hope you have Amazon Prime.
I hope you have Amazon Prime.
And I do!

The fools at Amazon are playing right into my hand! BWAHAHAHHAHHUHAHAHAHAH!
Is this a limited time price or is this just a natural price drop over at Amazon?
Amazon will drop the price on Harmony remotes every once and a while, sell them out at that price, and restock with a higher price later on.

So it's limited, and most likely ends when X number have been sold.

Seems like it's back alive. I've been looking for this remote for this price for a while now. Thanks OP! Placing an order now.

Dealnews.com also reported that the Harmony 880 is on sale for $97 with free shipping. It's basically a higher end version with a color LCD (I heard it ate battery life like Pacman at some point). It also supposedly works better with HDTV setups (which makes me wonder, does the 550 allow me to switch between 4:3 and 16:9?).

Apply coupon GXWCVCLQ to get the 880 for $97.

Should I cancel and go for the "better" one?

all i got is this hdtv and the cable box...no thanks but thanks

You can always have the 550 "learn" any specific command (from your original remote)and map it to whatever button you want.

You could buy two poison gas cannisters with the $47 you save.

Well, I am dangerously low on poison gas canisters.

It was a lot easier back in the day. Dr. Claw and I used to go through a dozen a week. Now you've got to ration it out.

Is the 550 a pain to get to sync with every device?

The only experience I have are with those old cheap $8 ones that work with 12.5 tvs and it never was mine. Or if it did work I could control the sound of the tv and the doorbell of the house, what memory's.

Its extremely simple...you set it up via software on the PC, you select the device's model number and as its synced to the PC and the software sends the data to the remote and then its ready to go.

I received mine, I can't wait to take it home and play with it. It looks much sexier once you're actually holding it.

That's what she said.
can you program multiple tv's (like ones that are in different rooms) so that they can be controlled with one remote? How about lights?
If the light has a RF sensor, like a lot of ceiling fan/light combos, yes. Multiple TVs? Probably. Would take a little more programming on your part to label TV1, TV2, etc, and set up separate activities for each.

If anyone is interested I have one that I never use. I would be willing to sell it. I dont have the original box or anything but it works perfect. I just dont have a need only having my 360 and cable box now.
