Logitech XBox Wireless Precision $10.95 + shipping

Yeah, in my experience "refurbished" usually is "broken." Last night I blew up 2 Sega Dreamcasts due to defective no-name A/V cables. Needless to say they were sold to me as "refurbished" by Gamestop. Uh-huh.

Refurb Logitechs are a bit different.

And how do you screw a system up with A/V cables?

 That's what I want to know. Something in the output boards blew out I guess. The video cable had a short or an open, and in the process of trying to determine the source of the video flicker, I lost the audio and video of 2 systems. I'm guessing an overvoltage spike killed a transistor somewhere.

Anyway, point being, I've had awful luck with used/refurbished console hardware. I wouldn't buy refurbished peripherals by mail order, let alone locally. Just my Oh Pine Yun.

OK, a short I can see.

Midnightbox I believe has a good reputation though. And Logitechs have a pretty decent build quality (from my experience), so I wouldn't be too hesitant to purchase a refurb of one of their products.

To all you others out there, remember that refurb doesn't always mean it was broken. It applies to other returns as well.

I've bought PS2 Logitech refurbs from MidnightBox before.

They are a reliable retailer, and this is a quality product. The 2 Logitechs I got have worked flawlessly. One had a very slight ding in the case and the other needed to have its X button cleaned after a few months. That's it. They've worked like troopers now for over a year and a half.

These are easily the best wireless controllers for XBOX or PS2 and this is a terrific price.

[quote name='cleaver']Decent deal on the well reviewed controller. Shipping is a flat fee and you can buy a max of 5.

I have 2 of these (bought refurbished elsewhere) and they don't work for me. The problem is they don't allow you to select the wireless channel and they don't do any sort of auto channel searching. Ah well.

As per the refurbished==broken, it really depends on who's selling it. store.apple.com refurbished generally means like new. Sony refurbished is quite good. Random eBay retailer? Run...

True. Most of my experience has been with Gamestop, so maybe I'm too pessimistic. Man they suck.
