LOL at Circuit City

Imallvol7

CAGiversary!
Does anyone remember a few weeks ago when everyone was claiming that Best Buy was clearing out Guitar Hero 2 on 360 for like 25$??? Well, I rushed to my best buy, and of course they didn't have it.

Yesterday, I was in Circuit City and found two torn and scratched up boxes barely held together on the clearance table (of Guitar Hero 2 for 360 with wired guitar). I was so excited I ran up and grabbed one of them and threw it in my cart while I shopped (there was no price tag).

After I was done, I approached the cash register, and asked how much they would be charging for this item. It rang up at 89.99$. I said they must just not have it right in the computer because it was on the clearance rack. He said OK let me get the manager.

He came back with a smile on his face and said, "I can sell it to you for 85$". I laughed in his face and told him you realize this is like 4 versions ago and includes a WIRED guitar. I also told him that Best Buy cleared them out a few weeks ago at 20$. He said, well I am sorry. I laughed again, and just left my cart (it only had like one item in it).

I understand COMPLETELY why CC is going out of business. They even make Best Buy look good.

Just because one store has something on clearance dosent mean that everystore should. You realy showed them...and us what an idiot you are.
OP is a bigger douche.
You are a dumbass, I would have done the same thing. Left the damn cart right there. I have a great friend at a CC, and he and the clearance sales are the only reason for my shopping there.

Again I take up for OP. How could you say he really(and note idiot! "really has 2 l's) showed us what an idiot he is. There is no reason for an old ass game bundle like that to be on a clearance table, in a tore up box, and have the nerve to insult him with a $5 discount. Crazy as hell.

Exactly. OP is a douchebag. CC clears out games every month... but that doesn't mean I'm going to go to Best Buy and be a little bitch about it when they have the same games at retail price still. BB doesn't even match CC's clearance because they're not advertised.

Sure they're not perfect but what store is? I like that they clearance games and offer $10 giftcards on newer games from time to time.

Is the reason you'd leave the shopping cart there because you're too stupid to remember where you got it from, or because you somehow feel you're sticking it to the man by making a low-level employee do more work?

How do we know an employee put it there, I worked in retail for about a week before i got smart and got out, and customers would pick somethign up and walk across the store and put it down. things are never in the right place, where i worked we had 4 employees that were constantly walking the floor relocating items customers had misplaced. They didnt need to give him a discount at all, $5 was being gracious, then he goes and leaves his cart in the checkout lane, that shows that he has a childlike mentality, I'm wondeing how he would react if he were in the same situation as the worker there.

No need to worry about him working retail bc no one would hire that childish attitude.

Lol, I love all the responses. I took the game back to the clearance table by the way.

But the basket stayed.

I am flabbergasted by all the responses. Trying to sell me a tore up game that has four iterations out for 85$??? Yeah, good job.

And it doesn't help with all my past experiences of not honoring guaranteed in stock Tuesday deals, bad service, etc. etc.
I am just done with them for good now.

If you want digital high-fives, post it on gamefaqs.

Regular employees don't have any say about the price. The guy, from your description, seemed happy to help you. He went and lobbied a manager on your behalf. The upper management - the people who actually control the prices - are the ones at fault here.

But you laughed at him and left your cart for him to pick up. That's just ungrateful. Then you act like he deserved it and brag about it on here. Bad form.

Also, your expectations may have been unrealistic. The market value of just the game used is about $25. People still want it, so it's probably not necessary for CC to drop the price at all.

That just shows how much of an idiot you are.

Circuit City, which in your opinion is going out of business, actually attracted a fool like you to shop there.
LOL @ you OP, you douchebag.

According to you, I should ridicule Best Buy employees because they are selling Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn while CC sells it for $16.96.
I want to go where you work so I can make fun of you because your competition sells it for $X.xx cheaper.
You and that bill123 guy would be good friends Imallvol7. ;)
Actually, I believe it was billg, since they have/had Vega(I think that's the characters name) from Street Fighter as their avatar on CAG during the whole 'I want what I wanted during the Black Friday sale and I wasn't going to take NO for an answer even though I went there AFTER the hours the items I wanted were on sale for' debacle.

As for getting that same price, I would've stashed one of the GH 2 bundles @ BB, then PM'd to CC for an extra 10% or whatever off. Either that or, you know, just buy it from BB.

Wow. Way to act like an incredible dick towards someone who had absolutely no control over the prices in that particular store. You must feel like such a big man now.

Seriously, what, do you get off on humiliating people because your giant sense of entitlement refuses to let you walk away from a bad price at a store that owes you nothing in the first place? Or is it that you don't grasp the fact that stores are businesses, out to sell you stuff for as much as they can get away with?

Eh, whatever. I just hope I never have the misfortune to have you as a customer of mine.

Is leaving the cart really that big a deal? Don't get wrong- I hate it when people leave carts at my counter and it's pretty kewl to see people saying it's a jerk move... but the cart-dumping happens every single day I work. The clerk proably wrote him off as yet another person too lazy to put it away. He may have even forgiven him for it since he put the game back instead of leaving it at the counter (I know I hate item-dumping more than cart-dumping.)

I think that leaving the cart isn't such a big deal by itself, but it makes the OP look like a jerk when combined with his other actions.

Yes indeed, the OP is a definite douchebag (along with his boyfriend RicoRaney...I mean really Rico, pulling a trivial misspelling into this 'debate'?), I think we all concur. So take your business elsewhere, OP, oh noes what a tragedy and huge loss for Circuit City! You sure showed them with your protest. Though no doubt you'll be back for more of their abuse when you find them having an advertised sale or clearance price on something you want.

FYI for the morons who can't detect it: italicized words = sarcasm

FYI #2 for RicoRaney: DID I SPELL 'REALLY' CORRECTLY, RICO? I CAN'T TELL, HELP ME!!!

so what was the mystery item you left in the cart?

I don't see why every one is calling OP a douche. Sure leaving the cart their is a lame thing to do but having a manager try to discount 5 dollars off of a 90 dollar old game that is beat to hell is just insulting.

The packaging was messed up. Who cares about the packaging on GH.

Employee tried to do something. I would understand if they did nothing but being a jerk to someone just trying to help makes you a huge douche (ex: OP)

Uh, I have never been in a CC that had shopping carts. I don't think I have ever seen someone need a shopping cart for two items anyway.

As long as they keep clearancing out good games like FE for 16.96... I hope CC always stays in business, I must have a couple hundred CC games

Would you laugh at that person's face?

If so, you're a douche like the OP.
