Looking for 1gb of memory for my home pc

I'm looking to buy one or two 1gb memory sticks for my home pc. Here are the specifics. The best I can find is on newegg.com for $49.99. I saw some on ebay, but I was leary of them.

i would also like 1gb of RAM for cheap, but how do you know which ones are compatible with your PC?
