With the deals on Live subs that happened during Black Friday I'm sure you can find some ok deals on eBay if you look.
Aside from that keep an eye on Tiger Direct through eBay as they have 1 year subs for around 40 bucks or less throughout the year.
One other option would be to check the trading forum here on the site. I'm sure some CAGs have them for sale for a good deal or some up for trade. You could start a thread there asking for a 3 month or 1 year Live sub and tell what you have to offer for it, like Pay Pal or some games etc.
