Looking for a B&M store that sells cheap used cds.

It'sMagneto

CAGiversary!
I'm interested in building up my music collection. There are so many albums I'm looking at, however, that it would become very costly very fast. I'm looking to buy these albums used and on the cheap. Anyone know of B&M stores which sell cheap cds? I would buy from amazon sellers but shipping kills.

Just about every pawn shop in the U.S. sells CDs for about $2-$3 now. They know the worthlessness of the plastic discs.

If you want a better catalog to choose from, as opposed to the random "This is what was in my boyfriend's car before I left him" selection, you can always look for a local CD Tradepost or other independently-owned music store in your area. There's at least one in every city.

I know it's not what you asked for, but have you checked out yourmusic.com? It's a division of BMG Music Service. CDs are new for $6.99 (shipped) and you buy them one at a time instead of joining BMG.
The only (big) drawback is the very limited selection.

Well thanks for the suggestions. I'm looking for very specific albums so I may not be so lucky but here's hoping. A good number of the independently owned music shops around here closed up not too long ago unfortunately. Maybe I just need to look harder though. At any rate I think I'll try the pawn shops. However, what I've seen so far from amazon isn't too bad. They have many albums on the cheap and even with $3 per cd it isn't a bad alternative price wise.
