Looking for a basic optical mouse

kev

CAGiversary!
I can't believe I'd have to spend more than $10 to get a simple mouse but between enormous shipping costs on eBay and crazy prices on Best Buy I just might...

I'm hoping to go under $10 shipped. I don't really care if it's branded or not, I just can't PC game on my trackball anymore, my response times are too slow :)

If you PC game seriously then you need a mouse that cost more than 10 bucks...get a logitech mx series...I have one and its great!

Funnily enough, there was a free optical mouse deal a couple weeks back. A shame.

I'm not sure how trustworthy this is, but it's worth looking at.

I'm not very serious about it at all. I'm just looking to play a game here and there so I'm not worried about slow response times and such. I'm a 99% console gamer so I'm just looking for the bare minimum on my PC.

Shame I missed that free one :)
I really like my trackball for FPS's. What don't you like about them?
The shiny light that opticals give, of course. 8)

Im sure you can find an intellimouse optical(OEM version) for $10 on a website somewhere, my local pc shop guy sold me one for $10 and he has high overhead on his store.

Yep, found one today. I stupidly forgot that I could use pricewatch.com for mice.

Under $10 shipped for an MS mouse.

My problem with my trackball is A) it's starting to bug my hand muscles and B) my aim is less than precise with it. It worked fine for years of Diablo 2 but I keep miss-clicking on Stronghold (an RTS) and I dare not even try UT2K4.

UT2k4 is fine, at least for me. I still manage to be better then most of my useless teammates.

What site did you end up ordering from? I've been wanting to get an optical mouse as well. Thanks!

Wow, what an old thread.

I ended up getting a simple Logitech Optical Mouse at CC for $15 and I've been enjoying it very much.
