Looking for a cheat device for a PS2 that works on PS1...

Anyway, this is not a request for a mod-chip, hack, or bootleg of any kind. I'm not looking for that. I'm looking for a legit cheat device. Thank you (I was also told to post here).

So, I've been searching the web, looking for a PSX gameshark that works on a PS2 Slim, but they are either out of stock, or expensive as heck ($250 for a cheat device? o_O).

Anyway, a codebreaker or a Gameshark that will work on a PS2 for PS1 games would be highly appreciated. I'll trade with cash since I don't have much to offer in terms of games. :S

Edit: I'd like a PS1 Action Replay or a Codebreaker now.

I used to use something called Gameshark Lite for the PS1 on my PS2 console and it worked just fine for all my games. I did a quick search and there is a sealed one listed on eBay for quite cheap. Here's the link. I don't know the difference between the original Gameshark and Gameshark Lite except maybe the interface variation when navigating. Anyways, give it try, it worked wonders for me when I used to play FFTactics and FFVII on my PS2. :)

Unless there were some hardware/compatibility changes from the original PS2 to the PS2 Slim, I'm going to say it will work.

I asked a question for the Gameshark Lite: Can you add/edit codes? I got a "no" for that. That's not what I'm looking for, I need to be able to edit/add codes for what I have in mind.

I have a Power Replay that connects to the I/O port on the back of a PS1. Do you only have a PS2? If so... I also have a PS1 in like new condition I'd be willing to sell you with the Power Replay device.

Let me know.

I'm actually not interested in buying a PSOne ATM.

I made a deal with someone recently, and it was the Memory Card Gameshark. It didn't work on my PS2 Slim. I'm thinking something's wrong. I've heard rumors of these not working on Slims.

I really want to be able to edit codes and stuff like that. Does anyone have a solution? Maybe a codebreaker?

Thanks for the offer, but I'm not interested in a PS1 ATM. :)

Anyway, after some advice from others, I've grown more interested in an Action Replay for the PS1 (one that's not in the back port for obvious reasons), or a Codebreaker since the GS codes are compatible (so I heard) with an Action Replay/Codebreaker.

Can anyone offer one of these to me?
just put in the gameshark code and it will take it. the only bad part you will need a whole memory card to add new codes.
You mean an extra PS1 memory card? Or do you mean that the Codebreaker comes with its own memory card like the Gameshark, to store the codes in?

Im trying to sell one on ebay, if its the same one I have, then it's a disc. You put in the codebreaker disc, activate the cheats, then it will prompt you to put your game disc in.

I used to use it all the time when I was a kid, it's very simple and worked 99% of the time:lol:

It is a disk and it works the way that potatoeman has said. As I said earlier if you want to add codes you need to dedicate a whole memory card to the codebreaker.

idk if this has been answered or not, but the old gamesharks that i used to use were black disks with a memory card for the device itself, only thing i have now is an old psx gameshark that attaches to the parallel port on the back of some of the models. if you or anyone else is interested in buying it i'll ship it for $10 or so.

EDIT: i was too lazy to read the other posts other than the OP, so they were answered, but the gameshark is still for sale/trade if anyone wants it.
