I'm looking to find a decent MP3 player for under or around a $100. I'll likely just use it for yardwork and riding my bike, so I don't need anything too special. I've been looking at the RIO Cali and a couple of others on Ebay. I really only need 2 - 4 hours of playback. If anyone has any good suggestions or know of any good deals out there, let me know. Thanks!!
Stop by WalMart and pick up the Ilo mp3/wma player. Imho its about the best you can do for under a hundred bucks. Ilo 256 MB MP3 Player
Thanks! I've never heard of the brand, but I checked some reviews and it seems like a decent little player for the price, and exactly what I'm looking for. I'll probably pick one up in the next few days.

Hold off until Tuesday, Apply should be coming out with 1GB and 2GB iPod Micros, starting around $100-$200. (smaller than the iPod mini!)

Tuesday is the keynote of Apple CEO Steve Jobs, and he'll be announcing all sorts of goodies. I think it is at 9am Pacific time.

News got leaked that Apple is going to release a sub-$500 Mac Desktop. Apple sued the people who leaked it. ;-)

Thanks for the help guys! I ended up picking up the Ilo. I couldn't find anything but good reviews on it, and I was able to find it brand new for $71.78 shipped. For the limited amount of usage it will see, I figured I'd take a chance on it. I'll let everyone know what I think of it after It arrives.....

I can vouch for that - my friend got one and its expandable with SD cards...and you can use WMa if you're pushed for space too :D

Yeah, I ended up picking up the ILo last week for $71 new and shipped. I can say that I am very happy with it so far. I have about 4 or 5 albums saved on it so far (WMA format....seems to be fine to me).

The Sound is great, but the highest volume could be higher. The screen is clear and easy to read, especially with the backlighting. The menu is easy to navigate and the interface couldn't be easier to use. I love the added feature of the FM tuner, which plays Houston stations without static 45 minutes outside of houston. The added voice record and the ability to transfer any data are added plusses.

All-in-all, it is definitely a great player for someone who is new to MP3 like me and only needs a limited amount of space. I am going to add a 256 or 512 SD or MMC card to increase my space. Can someone tell me which format is better and why?

WMA isnt any better than MP3, if you really want small files you're going to pay with loss of quality... and as for a really cheap mp3 player... go to winamp.com =P its free.

Does the Winamp player convert WMA files to MP3? Thanks....

I don't think there is one for WMA, but I think dbpoweramp may have a plugin for it...

or the advanced WMA converter, i think thats what its called but its a free trial that only lets you do 5 files at a time...
