I'm thinking of picking this game up soon and before I but it at full price I thought I would just check if anyone has a good deal on this. Any help would be appreciated.
I haven't seen any deals, and I've been looking too. I was hoping Target would have it for $38 for a week like they do with some new games, but no such luck.
Don't buy it... I beat it in 5 days and there wasn't much to go back to afterwards. The game's only 10 hours long.
If you want to play it, just rent it and return it after you're done. With Blockbuster's 'No More Late Fees' thing, you can technically keep a game/movie for a total of 13 days before having to return it on the 14th day.

And then buy it later, when it's like $10.[/QUOTE]
I assume you didn't play it on God mode. The game took me 5 hours on my first run (normal) and 16 on my second (very hard). Top that off with the challenge mode and I got my money out of the game.

I say buy it immediately. It was one of the best games I've ever played and it kicks ass from the second it starts until it's over - you can't ask for more out of a video game. Not everyone has all that time to play either. I would hate to have to rush through this game because of a deadline. It's one of the few games this generation worth the money (I got it for $32 shipped from outpost.com)...
I tried renting it from Gamefly with the free 30 day trial, but the copy they sent me kept freezing. Maybe it's because I have an older PS2, but it plays other dual layered games.
Yeah that game has a problem with my ps2 as well. Freezes, janky screen, poor refresh rate. It might be a good game, but not when it gives you a headache when you play it. I also played other dual-layered games just fine (Xenosaga being one). Maybe its just poor development with the game itself? I know we aren' the only ones to have this problem.
Hmm I'll probably just rent it once schools out because then I'll definetly have the time to beat it in the week or whatever it is. And could someone actually explain the no more late fees to me? Kind of seems to good to be true.
EDIT: O and I dont' want to start a new topic on this so I'll ask here. How is gamefly?

I've never used it, but I've heard only good things about their rental service. The turnaround time is supposed to be really good on the west coast, but if you live in the east coast it can get to be sort of long.
I have a first gen ps2 and mine plays just fine from gamefly. If you are in california, when they send my games, I recieve them in 2 days. Send back is usually 3-4. So i think its a good service. Im renting it right now from them, and man, it is one hell of a game
