Looking for a good LAN FPS

Hi,

I play on a 3-person LAN, and we have fun deathmatching with Half Life. But we're looking for something more, something mission based.

Essentially, our ideal scenario would be all three of us working together on the same team to perform missions against computer opponents, something like an old game called "Hidden and Dangerous".

Two people had to take out the computer enemy, while a third person went around back and blew up a shed or something. It was fun.

It can be SWAT or something tactical related (no counterstrike, or TFC), and we only want to battle computer opponents, but definitely all of us on the same team, doing missions such as "get all the hostages out, destroy all the supply trucks, etc.)

Anyone have any good recommendations?

Thanks.

The only game that comes to mind right away is Sven Co-op, it's a HL mod but it's great for 2+ people, me and my roomates bust it out ever here and there. Unreal always has some nice options, but no matter what me and my friends always get at least 3 hours of Quake III in at a lan party.
I did play Return to Castle Wolfenstein, but there didn't seem to be any mission based multiplayer.
They released Enemy Territory for free, which is the multiplayer add-on. It's completely free, you can just download it and don't need to have Return to Castle Wolfenstein.

If you want co-op mission, get Rainbow Six 3. You can play any mission in the game, or custom missions, with iI think up to 4 people. At a lan, we played it for over 9 hours straight.
yeah, I'm downloading it now. Now, is it just like deathmatch in a war setting, or are there team objectives and stuff?
There are objectives, but they are fairly simple for the most part. Fun game though, and the price is right, so check it out.

Scen co-op isnt mission based, its more or less like a multiplayer Half-Life, some maps do require 2 or more people solving puzzles, its well worth a look though.

Have you checked out the Serious Sam family of games (First/Second Encounters or Gold)? It's got it all, co-op, comedy, continuous violence,cheap...... just go get it now....

The Assault Mode of Unreal Tournament or UT2K4, is always fun for some fast paced, obejective based missions (Blow up a ship, disable some shields, take out a barricade, etc.)

Also, Ghost Recon (the first one) is good for pure missions. Choose from snipers, assaulters, and demolition guys, and take on various people to carry out missions. Ex. In one mission you learn that a pilot has crash landed in enemy territory. You start at an insertion point with your team, 2 of you break off to go take out Tangos while the other sneaks into an airfield to rescue the pilot and blow op the evidence of the pilot's crash. Then you all have to meet up at the extraction point to complete the mission.

Good stuff!!

My friends and I are just like you! we love co-op games

we played so much Serious Sam and its sequel

They are really fun! especially when you play co-op =)
