Looking For A Good Value Laptop Around $1000

I'm looking for any kind of laptop that isn't overpriced and has good enough specs, not neccesarily top of the line. Are there any stores or websites that someone can reccommend?

If you're looking small, try averatec (going for probably around 800-900 if you find good deals) Its what I'm typing this message on right now.
 
Just got the bestbuy gateway special for 650, it's a decent computer very thin and fairly light...the ac adapter is slim as well. Though it's celeron.

The lcd on my ibook g3 went and it cost too much to repair so I just bought a new lappy and am selling the apple for parts.

Steer clear of the compaq r3000s though they are very heavy.
 
dell has been have some great online deals do some searching for dell coupons and you could end up getting a 1500 laptop for aroun 900 or maybe even less.
