I'm looking for a HDTV that's anywhere from 20', nothing over 27' since I know I won't find a TV that's around $150-200. Nothing over $220 I guess
Don't wanna spend much because I already have a 37' in my room, only buying this because I stay 3 1/2 days a week at my gf's room lol

Ok so my old SDTV is hooked up to my ps3 and most of the time the text are not even readable or it's just small but readable depending on the game, the sdtv is about 20-23' width and height give or take. What I wanna know is, if I buy a HDTV that's like what....22'? Will the quality of the text be more clear than the SDTV? What if I got the 22' and I'm about 8-10ft away, will it still be unreadable? That's what I'm worried about, if I buy something that's 22' I won't be able to read the text since the HDTV might be smaller than the SDTV. Or does the ps3 have something that automatically adjusts the text if the HDTV is too small?

I don't wanna buy a HDTV 22'~ and then find out I still can't read most text and find out it's much smaller than my old SDTV

And also I was looking through amazon's tv's. and many refurbished tv's...do they have a big chance of dying within a year?

I had to do the same thing, couldn't read the text in games anymore. Just bought a 32" hdtv to replace the sd 32". A friend of my replaced his tv with a 19" and he can read the text. As far as finding a cheap tv I would watch Amazon lightning deals this weekend they have had a 27" for around 169 and a 32" around 188 a few times over the last week. So they might have more this weekend before they end their Cyberweek sale. You also might want to check out Amazon wharehouse deals as they are getting returned tv's, someone reported getting a 32" for 167 on there. Hope this helped.

Any size hdtv will get you readable text, even ones smaller than your current tv. You dont have to worry about that.

All SDTVs, regardless of size, display at 480i, which is 480 lines (not technically correct but I dont want to get into the specifics). HDTVs are going to natively display at 720 or 1080 lines, regardless of size. The reason you have trouble reading text is that HD console developers have the game planned out to display properly at 720 or 1080. When you try to display that at 480, it turns out unreadable.

If you dont care about watching cable tv, I recommend this monitor. You'll have to use HDMI to hook your consoles up but it has speakers built it, so its effectively a TV as far as games are concerned.

Thanks guys, I just have one question for that monitor...I noticed they sell used Like-new on amazon, would that really matter if I got it? What are the pro's and con's? Does it have anything to do with the warranty if it comes with one?

I would go new. I purchased a used-Excellent 42" TV from secondipity.com and when I turned it on, I found that it had two lines of dead pixels on it. Not a major thing (really doesn't affect the picture, as they are right up on the top, but disappointed. Just go new, and save yourself some trouble.

Thanks for your inputs, there's a chance I MIGHT get a HD monitor if the TV's are too expensive (want a 24" now). Kinna torn between the two since monitors are a little cheaper.

Can you guys recommend me some good/reliable TV brands and monitor brands?
I might go Best Buy, Target, Frys or Walmart.
I don't wanna end up buying something that dies in a year...

Is this a good price? for a 23"

Yeah but the problem with most monitors (including your link) is that most do not include built in speakers since they assume you are plugging it into a desktop computer.

The monitor that was posted earlier does have internal speakers which is probably why it is a little more expensive but might be worth it.
Well what are some good brands for Monitors then? I'll check that one out
Asus, HP, Dell... Those types of things.
Well at least their monitors last longer then their generic pcs...
lol! That is true... Actually samsung probably is one of the best.
