Heya folks. I'm new to having an iPod worth taking away from my desk where I usually just use noice cancelling headphones. Now that I want to travel a bit with my iPod I'm looking for some pretty decent inside the ear earbuds, and of course I'm here so I want em cheap! :D

So what have your experiences been? Anything out there decent and cheap?

Okay, what is your price range. Im willing to spend 100$ on my next set which will probably be Shure's latest effort but if you want a good set go with Sennheiser X300 or whatever there called on amazon for 44$. Thats the best set under 50$. Some may say those sony 71's are better but I think they have way to much bass. Check amazon's selection. They have pretty dam good deals on there headphones.

The Sennheiser CX300 is an excellent choice. I have a pair and I wear them every day. They have phenomenal sound plus they're the only in-ear headphones that I can get to actually stay in my ear.

They do block out most outside noise, though, so if you need to be able to hear your surroundings for any reason, look elsewhere.

I have a set of the etymotic er6i. comes with three different sized flanged tips and the foam things.
I'm very happy with them except that the tips seem to wear out and eventually start staying in my ear when i pull em out. There is some maintenance associated with them though. they have these things you have to replace after the wax from your nasty ear builds up on them, I wonder how the other brands deal with that though.

So I ended up getting a pair of Sennheiser CX300 off of ebay for $15 total. I have my fingers crossed that they are not knock offs. Will let everyone know when I get them.

Yah know... I don't remember what they said about the knock offs but, I hope it isn't. Unfortunately, it sounds like from the price they are knock offs.

The main reason why I'm hopefull is the amount of positive feedback the guy has from selling these directly. Time will tell.

Contact the seller and ask if the are genuine. give him the model number and say you know their are a lot of fakes floating around.

Ok, so they ended up being knock offs. The seller touted a return policy and when confronted with the fact they were fake he gave me a full refund and told me to just keep the fakes.

And yes, they sounded horrible.

I'll just buy em from a B&M.

Glad it worked out for ya, Stupid fakes.

I got lucky I suppose, the seller got them from Amazon but didn't want them. They were sealed with a buy it now price of $35.

The good news is that even at $50 or whatever they sell for in B&M stores they are still worth it... Seriously, I tried some $100 ear phones from the Apple store and they didn't have ANYTHING on the CX300. I seriously questioned how they were worth $100.

I'm not sure how good they are as I haven't owned any. The comments seem pretty positive, so I am getting a pair myself.

I have a pair of these, and just ordered 2 more the other night from sellout.woot. They really are as good as people are saying. They're almost identical in sound to the Sony 51s, which I also have and love. You can get the 51s directly from Amazon (not a reseller) new for $20.39 right now.

For $20 the Sony 51s are the best for the money (the 71s are the same buds but with funky-sized cording) as opposed to spending $50 on the senns.

I dunno about these razers... sounds like a copy from Sony then. If they are like the Sony 71s they'll be crap imo... At least compared to the CX300s.

For travelling I bought a pair of the Koss KEB 20, and they have great range. Amazon's got 'em for 15.78. My review is the top review on 'em if you need a better breakdown on them.

Frankly, anything over the 25.00 MSRP from Koss is pretty damn awesome-- I exclusively buy from them now, because they never disappoint. Even better-- lifetime warranties. You send 'em back to Wisconsin, no questions asked, pay a small service fee (I believe around $5) and they ship a new pair or the newest model similar to yours immediately, I got a pair back when I sent from L.A. by priority in about 5 days. Insane.
