Don't buy the 17 and 27... they are just half filled versions of the 16 and 26 cartridges. The 16 and 26 cost slightly more but have like double the amount of ink in them (the cartridges are exactly the same otherwise). It works out cheaper buying the 26 and 27. Oh 17=10ml, 16=20ml, 27=16ml, 26=24ml, I think... something like that... might be a couple of ml out lol.
Oh and Lexmark are the most expensive printers to run on the printer market... well at least over here in the UK, HP are quite bad as well... their prices are a lot more competitive to third party manufacturers but the capacity of some of their cartridges really suck (some as little as 5ml per cartridge).
So yeah get an Epson... the printers cost a bit more but you save sooo much on the ink. The compatible cartridges for my Epson R220 (nice I suppose you could say entry level photo printer with direct to CD printing) cost me like $10 for 6 cartridges (just over £1 for each cartridge...); that's over a 100ml of ink in total. That's like two and a half times more than what you get in the full capacity Lexmark cartridges... Oh and I could buy cheaper compatible Epson cartridges but they're crap... the compatibles I use are nice (PrintRite).
Lexmark over here are like 3-5 times the price as Epson on the compatibles depending on the manufacturer and printer. Oh and regarding refills I wouldn't really recommend them... it's messy and you don't save that much money, works out far better switching to a different printer. BTW you can only refill a few times before the cartridge head gets worn out... and you have to buy a new cartridge anyways...
Hope that helps (I work for a small business that sells ink and stuff so I'm expected to know a little about them lol ^_^; ).
