Looking for component cables for my consoles

Ok so i am getting a new tv delivered some time this weekend because my gf loves me. ThanksNew TV
That is the tv. I have been looking around online for component cables for my consoles. I have all of them because I am a huge nerd. What cables should I get? Looking online I have seen prices from 6.99 to 70 bucks. I have never really been one to believe in the differences in cables, but I would like to hear what you all have. I mean mad catz has one for 9.99 and monster cable has one for 59.99 at best buy.

Also the tv only has two component connections. If I get component cables for each console, what kind of switcher can I get? For me the Cube would be at the low end of the order as my gf is the only one that plays it now that she has Animal Crossing. Thanks

I haven't tried the different brands of cables, but 59.99 seems way too expensive for some glorified RCA cables.
As far as the switcher, you should be able to use any that has 3 RCA/component inputs(and outputs). In this case, you might want to be worried about quality.

Buy the official xbox cables they go for $20 and really cant be beat

Cheap ass link.

Im not sure about cables for the ps2 but you can pick up the official ones at bb for $25 with the ggc
Cheap ass link

You can only order the gamecube cables from nintendo for $30 plus shipping
Cheap ass link

And if you want to be really cheap, you can go with madcatz's universal cable for ps2 and xbox for $10

Cheap ass link

Plan on around $30 for each systems cables after tax/shipping or whatever. I got official Sony ones from amazon for $20, because I had a gift card. They combined the shipping with something else but if you get them alone its probably like $6 which kind of kills the deal. Nintendo ones are only available for $30 on their site. Not sure what the best bet is for XBox, so I can't recommend.

MS cables for the xbox work great. ARGH i didn't know there were official ps2 component cables from sony. also if you're lucky you can find xbox component cables at TRU green tagged so i guess that would put them at $2?

How are the PS2 component cables on ebay? Cheap and I would guess couldn't be worse quality wise than say madcatz's cables.

Well I found the MS xbox pack and they looked nice with the gold connectors and all that. They were 20 bucks. They carry the mad catz, but they were out of stock. Yeah no one has the cube ones because I was reading that the new cubes dont even have hdtv hookups. I looked on mine and I had it so I am stoked.

Anyone know of a good hdtv system select? I only need it for two of em.

Thanks for the help guys.

After my TV and Home Theatre system, I think that I spent about 80 bucks on cables alone. If at all possible, I suggest getting a reciever that accepts two optical inputs for the sound.. and trust me, it makes a difference. I never got the component for Nintendo, so I'm on S-Video with that. The Hi-Def Xbox pack can be found around at places at a reasonable price... I use the one with S-Video as it also has an optical output on the actual AV pack. My PS-2 is on component, and I believe that you can pick up the Sony 1st party for around 19.99 from somewhere. Once you play a game in hi-def with optical sound, things will never be the same again :)

I have all three systems set up with the official component cables. I use a Pelican System Selector Pro to connect them and my DVD player to my 57" Toshiba HDTV. Cable is setup on the TV's other component input. The DVD player and cable are both using the least expensive component cables I could find and neither I, nor anybody else who has seen it, has had any complaints about picture quality.

How much are you looking to spend on the switch? Two great resources for info and products are www.audioauthority.com and www.zektor.com they both have great products but you could easily spend $200 or more. If you don't mind the loss of signal, which kind of defeats the purpose, you could go with Madcatz HDTV system selector for about $30. From what I've read I wouldn't recommend the Pelican system selector which runs $100 and makes a humming noise.

My brother has worked at Best Buy, Ciruit City, and Good Guys and messed around with the in store TV's alot. He's hooked up TVs with Multiple brands of component cable, and found absolutely no difference in quality. He has tried hooking up a console via Monster Cables component cables, Official (Sony//Microsoft) component cables, and Misc. 3rd Party (Pelican) component cables. Each gave the exact same picture quality. So IMHO, go for the lowest prices component cables you can find.

The only thing being, Monster Cable and such is just extremely durable and will probably last longer than 3rd party cables.
