I'm looking for a set of gaming headphones (for the 360 mostly) and I'm wondering if I can get a wireless set for $50. All suggestions need to be at least under $100 but I'm hoping for closer to $50.

I have cats and kids so wires are a no go. I had a pair of sennheiser 110s and they were broken when they arrived at my house (I was aware of possible issues when I bought them). They seemed like a good idea, but the sound cut in and out in the left earpiece and the crackling was frequent.

I like the Turtle Beach concept in that they are also a headset, but the cost is way too much for me.

Suggestions?

There are some pretty decent wireless headset/headphones combinations out there for under $100. For $50 though, you'll end up with wires or without voice chat. I can't remember the brand name, but there is a company that is real similar to Turtle Beach except their products are 10-20% cheaper, probably not quite as good of quality either. I know they have them at Best Buy and probably Game Stop too. Obviously Amazon and other online stores have them as well.

I have the x31's I use them for the 360. Make sure you have the cables that came with the xbox when you purchased it because there is one that allows you to take advantage of the optical input and resultant sound quality.

Sound quality on the x31s are impressive. My only complaint is that when you connect the mic you have to suffer with low band static that is transmitted due to the poor sound quality of xbox live chat. Otherwise it is amazing. Perfect for playing fps late night with sleeping roomates nearby.

Good to know! Honestly I only use the xbox live chat around 15% of the time.
