Looking for Mass Effect LE edition....

Well this week the regular edition of Mass Effect is $50 from FS so there's another option. And to say the truth... the LE isn't really worth it :/ You get a bonus CD which has some neat bonuses but nothing to make you go crazy over. There's some new gamerpics and themes (themes being the coolest part of the LE) but, I mean, that's not very exciting. You don't even get a standard DVD case because the discs are in a cardboard sleeve right now. The artbook is really small and nothing to blow your mind.

You really could just avoid the LE, but you CANNOT avoid this game :)

I agree there is no reason to die over the LE edition except the game and the gameplay which I have to say is KICKASS I rented it and finished it I just want to get all achievments...lol but yeah a great game by a great company and by CANADA!

I picked up the Mass Effect novel this week just to get the back ground story before I play the game. Has anyone else read it? I'm looking forward to the game.

Yeah, the videos on the CE basically tell you everything you already know if you have been following the hype. They probably could have added a bit more, like the real soundtrack or a copy of the book, but oh well.

Good luck on getting all the achievements. You're looking at 3-4 playthoughs.

You need 3 playthroughs to get all 6 ally achievements and to hit level 60.

Not to mention if you play the same character through all three playthroughs you'll miss out on class specific achievements like the "use x skill 75 times" and "get 150 kills with x weapon" achievements. I still need 4 ally achievements, veteran and hardcore achievements, all the engineer achievements and assault rifle/sniper rifle kills. Most of the weapon kills are easy except sniper rifle - you need to specialize in that to get any kills.

I just finished a playthrough - Level 49, completionist and the Turian/Sentinel achievements and that was 24 hours of gameplay (not including reloading when I died of course). This is using subtitles to speed up some dialogue (I read pretty fast).

I plan on playing through this game at least twice, but can't see me getting 1000/1000 in my lifetime.

It's not that bad. Actually, the hardest ones to get are Quarian and Asari achievements because you get those characters last.
Thankfully, you can spam most Engineer skills and you can find a plane with animals and shoot them to get rifle kills.
