Looking for PS2 system! Plz Help!

So I just found out today that my PS3 is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUSLY DUMB DUMB DUMB. Apparently Sony thought it was a good idea NOT to include backwards compatibility in all of the PS3's they made. Lucky me, I get a system a year ago that I barely touch and it's one that only works with PS3 games!

Now that my rant is over, I need a PS2 system so that I can play God of War, God of War II, and the Kingdom Hearts games. I'm in college and the cable bill and groceries are up and coming so I'm out of luck in the regard of money. I do, on the other hand have a few things that I'd like to trade for a PS2 system with hookups and a controller.

All games and movies are mint/complete unless otherwise noted.

I have the following:

Someone didn't do their research when they bought the ps3, or read the box, sorry to be blunt

Your best bet sell the model you have, and get a 60 gb ps3 off ebay or craigslist.
 
Hey, man i have a PS2 in good condition and comes with 2 controllers, 1 memory card, and 4 games. If you wanna trade for the ps3 because i currently need next gen console...

sorry, but even if this is thread crapping, your post is kinda ridiculous. so he got the wrong one. big deal.
why would rebuying a PS3 be his BEST bet? Isnt getting a PS2 which is what he wanted, just as good of a bet? People are allowed to use two systems...
 
Yeah I felt dumb when I did the research post heart-break but there's really nothing I can do about it now. Canquain, not looking to get rid of it. Double, thanks :). I think right now my BEST bet is to get rid of a handful of dust collectors in exchange for a system that I want at little to no cost to me.

On a side note, it was a gift from my girlfriend so I was not going to be picky. But, to be fair, I did not know the circumstances either way.
