Any place have the Xbox 12 months Live Gold Membership on sale. mine expired today no call of duty 4 or rainbow six vegas for me right now :S. Any place cheaper than $59.99 will do.
And then ask them to email/PM you the code.[/quote]
Correct me if I'm wrong but I think all the codes for Live/Points cards are region specific. You'd think MS would include all of North America as one region but you'd be wrong... Cards purchased in the States won't work anywhere else and vice versa. I've read about people crossing the border to get points cards for cheaper but found they don't work here in Canada. I have 3 friends that got a 1 year Gold cards from the states but don't work in Canada... I even signed up for the free arcade games promotion and got codes for Joust and Robotron but they won't work in Canada, I gave them to my friend in the states and it worked for them. One possible solution is to have your friend in the states recover your gamertag and redeem the code for you. But I'm not sure if even that would work.
codes bought in the states dont work for canadian accounts.
To get around it, I have an alternative american account I use to add all my points and buy stuff on. But, I dont mess around with the live memberships. I just buy those in canada.

Actaully I purchased a US year of Live off of a CAG and it works.
Point cards don't, Live cards should. I've bought 24 months of Live from the States so far. 100 and 200 point cards also work in Canada. The Robotron/Joust ones were hit-or-miss. Mine worked, some others didn't.
Well if anybody eBays stuff, you could just go to factory direct and buy the live starter kit for $59.99 which comes with the camera, 2 xbox live arcada games and 200 microsoft points and then sell the stuff afterwards.
That's what i did and the camera and headset sold for around $25 USD and about $10 for the 2 games and microsoft points so i basically paid $68 - $25 - $10 which is $33 CAD (taxes included) in total in the end for the live card.
If you guys have an Ameri-friend, I'd recommend the buy.com deal mentioned above. I just did it and it worked perfectly! Shipping wasn't the quickest ever (~5 business days or so) but you can't beat $33US with the Google checkout discount.
I also did the buy.com thing mentioned above, and it worked fine. My friend received it within 8 or so days and told me the code.
For ~$35 Canadian, it's a great deal.
As a side note, I personally think 60 a year is a ripoff considering Microsoft doesn't run servers as hosts for games. I think 30 would be a perfect price for it. Not sure when Microsoft will ever think to lower the price, but it doesn't seem like they'll ever budge.
