So I've been hunting around, trying build a decent setup. Basically, I want a pc that can run WoW to the max, mass effect, and maybe some COD4/World at War.
I've already have a monitor so that cost is taken care of.
So far i got this set up:

Asus M3N78 PRO Motherboard
AMD Phenom 9500 2.20GHz Retail
Kingston PC6400 800MHz 4GB DDR2 Desktop Memory
Seagate 500GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G
Ultra E-Torque ATX Mid-Tower Case
Ultra LSP650 650-Watt Power Supply
Total: $392

DvD burner $21.00

Any input or suggestions would be appreciated, especially cutting costs. I figure the video card may be overkill...

I also could use some help from the CAG community.

current pc
case: full atx
motherboard: asus p4c800e deluxe
cpu: pentium 4 3.0c northwood
ram: 2gb corsair ddr 400
gpu: ati radeon 9600 pro

i just realized that i built this in 2004, so i really could use a new one. but we are trying to buy a house this year and money is tight.

i was looking at a few boards that have integrated graphics which i have never been a fan of before, but i do not play FPS's the last pc game i bought was sins of a solar empire. i play mostly RTS's some diablo, stuff like that. i figured i could start there and upgrade to a full video card in a month or two.

some of the boards i was looking at
gigabyte $54.99

asus $72.99

i have obviously been out of the computer building loop for a while and any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

on the 780g boards there is an HD 3200 integrated video, I've mentioned here several times... anyways it was good enough for me to run fallout on medium settings at a good framerate, also have a quad 9750 in there. I got the foxconn version for 60, and the processor for 100 at BF. Memory is cheap, even ddr3 is getting low. Anyways browse some of the above suggestions. If your case and psu is good enough, and you are not upgrading anything else. Your MB+CPU+Memory could be Had for 110 on deals for a ok duo core, 150 for better or lowest quad and under 200 for a decent quad.. AMD of course

It's not all that necessary to have the 1gb of vid memory on your 4870. You could save the 25$ and go for the 512, that's what I did and I run Crysis on max settings.
